In reality, a foolish question because no one knows which Cowboys team will show up or which coaching staff has done the best job of preparing its team and game-planning.

Can the Cowboys win?......Yes, definitely.

Despite their injuries in the secondary, anyone who thinks the Cowboys will steamroll the Seahawks is probably in for a disappointment. Their records say these teams are dead even at 9-7, and both finished their seasons in less than impressive fashion; however, Seattle has more experience and every reason to expect better, more consistant play from their QB and RB.

The Dallas Cowboys don't have to play "lights out" to win this game. If they simply play well, play as they have played at times, protect the football and avoid penalties, they will score enough points to win this game and move on to round 2 of the playoffs. Romo, the OL, the receivers, along with JJ and MBIII don't have to be perfect or put together a huge game to win...they simply have to execute the offense and avoid stupid mistakes.

This game, in my opinion, will rest entirely on the shoulders of the Dallas defense and the Seattle/Dallas placekickers. If the defense of the last month shows up, the one that couldn't get any 3 and outs, couldn't force punts, and couldn't take advantage of poor field position by the opposition, then the Cowboys will not only lose, but they'll lose big as the offense will not score enough points, won't win the time of possession, and won't be on the field enough to find its rhythm.

On the other hand, if the defense steps up big time and dominates the Seahawks, forcing 2-3 punts per half, getting some turnovers, making Seattle one-dimensional, and helping the offense control field position, then it's possible the Cowboys will win big.

The most likely happy scenerio for Cowboys fans will be for the defense to just play a "decent" game, force 1-2 punts per half, force fg's instead of giving up easy td's, and actually play with emotion, pride, and a decent scheme that will keep the game close....in the end the game is likely to be won by either Josh Brown or Martin Grammatica. It could come down to which team has the ball last, along with the final opportunity.

After the last month, I think Cowboys fans would take that scenerio and find it very exciting indeed.

IN my personal opinion, the Cowboys "should" win this game...I really believe that. The Cowboys would have to mail in their defensive game plan and effort yet again to allow the Seahawks to win this playoff game. If that happens, then there should be no one supporting the coaching staff. There has to be a coaching change, whether it's at the top with Parcells or on the second tier with a new defensive coordinator and several new position coaches.

Our defensive personel may not be as good as we thought on paper, but compared to the defensive personel Seattle will run out on the field tomorrow, poor coaching would be the only reason for our defense NOT to outperform Seattle's.
