Will they lose just to keep us out of the playoffs if possible, or will their pride try to win and maybe keep the Commanders out. Who do they hate the most.

I would think most teams try to win no matter what.

Back in 88, if GB lost, then they could have had the No. 1 pick, and possibly took Aikman (I believe they would have still took Mandarich). But they beat the Cardinals I believe and we got that No. 1 pick. So they didn't lay down for that.

The Eagles wont beat teh Deadskins. Our best chance to get in lays in our own hands and in the hands of the PAnthers. IF CArolina loses and we win then we get in.

I think the Eagles will play hard, and who knows? If Ramsey starts why can't Philly win at home? Philly still has a lot of veterans on D, and since they have nothing else to play for would probably consider this their chance at something positive from this season.

I think Philly has a better chance to win with Detmer. Reid is a proud coach and many players might be playing for their jobs in '06 - so dont expect them to lay down. But I just dont think Detmer and Moats will be enough to beat a good Washington defense. The only way Philly wins this game is if Ramsey throws a INT for a defensive TD and special teams makes some big plays.

This is a rather disgusting post for any franchise to be asked. I would like to think that when professional NFL coaches huddle in smoked-filled rooms, at the stroke of midnight, to discuss team strategy, they don't determine outcomes based on what Impact their team wins/losses will have on opponent teams. They have one objective all the time -- and that's to win!

Realistically, with a lineup that's minus D-Nabb, Westy, and a veteran WR corp, it is doubtful (at best) that a third-string QB with rookie receivers, and rookie RBs can pull off a win against a quality team in the NFC.

But there's one thing this Eagles fan can tell you about his team ...they will play as though this were a "must-win" game -- they'll play for 60 minutes and in overtime if necessary! Not to win for Dallas, or to lose for the Commanders, but because the opponent team may/maynot have accumulated more/less points at the sound of the final whistle.

If the Commanders shows up sloppy and underestimate the intensity of the Eagles desire to win; they might come up short! If they play at the same level as they played against the Cowboys, it could be a long game for us, and a short season for the Cowboys.

Believe it or not, the Eagles players are NOT thinking about the Cowboys. They have a job to do and a game to play...they'll give it their all, but I don't think they have a chance unless detmer plays ahead of McMahon. I think our best shot is Atlanta defeating CArolina.

These are professionals and they are not only playing for pride, some of them are playing for a pay-check next season.

They know that coaches around the league can tell if a player is playing half-hearted.

I don't expect the Eagles to just lay down.

They'll lie down, but not for any reason other than the fact that they suck horribly and have no heart.

it would not surprise me to see patrick ramsey and the Commanders lose in philly

there are too many players on the eagles...dawkins and trotter come to mind that have to much heart and too much pride to lay down. hell, they gave the giants a run for their money, why not the Commanders?

as for ATL on the other hand, i dont think they will be playing hard at all...knowing that they are done should mean they wont put up much of a fight

I don't see why you think Atlanta won't be playing hard when so many players on that team are under fire because of the debacle earlier this season.

That too is a divisional game at home we saw how Julius Jones ran all over the Panthers, so you would like to think Warrick Dunn could do the same thing. Vick is going to get destroyed as the Panthers have drafted well to neutralize him, but if they scheme well, they can beat the Panthers too...

Teams seem to play harder when the media gets to yakking about tanking and what not (look at the Houston Texans who easily had nothing to play for). Once the Atlanta and Philly Media gets to bashing the players, they will come out motivated to play spoiler...

what scares me is the fact that the eagles have consistently been in the playoffs and a Sb in recent years. To have sunk so far so fast, I can see them not show up at all for this game. Even if all their vets were playing in this game, I have a hard time seeing them pull this off.

You know what sucks though.

If you would have told Cowboys Fans the Eagles were not going to the post season, I think 100% of us would have assumed the Boys had stepped into their role as Div. Champs and headed to the Playoffs.

Hopefully the latter could be true.

No need for the Eagles to lay down. We'll dominate them no matter how hard they play.

You are a 9-6 team, you have no right to be cocky about a road game ever

Come on man, we have the best strength of victory in the conference, we're on a 4 game winning streak, Philly is without a bunch of key starters, and we're a Joe Gibbs coached football team with playoffs on the line. If we as fans can't be cocky about this game, we have no right ever being cocky.

PS. 14-13, 35-7 :)
