Will the offensive scheme really change under Schott?

When you promote an in-house assistant to HC you want to keep continuity and don't force your players to learn a brand new scheme. Terminology is going to be the same, but will the scheme really change under Schott? We have heard that he wanted to tweak MM's system to add more modern concepts, but that never happened.

What we do know:

-Schott will be the primary play caller this season
-Has brought in young, coaches that he has no prior affliction with.
-Our new OC, is a former OL and TE assistant coach, which suggests a strong run background.
-They brought in several college coaches from different backgrounds

-I was around for the Schott's years with the Jets; ground and pound. Elite rushing team. Had limitations at QB.
-Heard his Seattle stop, he wanted to have Wilson throw more, but Carroll wanted a more conservative run 1st offense.
Two drastic differences, which tells me he will devise his scheme around his players strengths, not his scheme.

Supposedly it was to change under Lineman from Garrett, but keep some similar and QB friendly.
It was supposed to change from Lineman to. Moore, but keep some similar and QB friendly.
It was to change 30% from Moore to MM, but keep it QB friendly.

Now going from MM to BS, but they did not say keep it similar and QB friendly. All we really heard is more of an emphasis on the run game. But MM said that also. Yes, they had limited RB's and the OL has not had the projected starting 5 together Burt a few games over the past 5 years.

One thing in common, it all still seems based off of Garrett's predictable offense. So I hope the truly change it up to make it less predictable. Maybe the use of more motion will be a huge factor in that. Of course executing the plays is a huge part of it.

This will be interesting to see how it all unfolds. And will be a work in progress this year.

Hard to speculate what we are going to see. MM did run more WC concepts over Air Coryell Scheme which we have had here for years. Scheme, both run/pass has to get more creative and less predicable.

May be, can the line block? i get alot of us want to see the coaches realized scheme on the field during a game but if the players cant execute it then what good is it gonna do. "why the hell are we throwing the ball 40 times"..looks down at the first half stats where we ran the ball for 2ypc and gave up 5 ypc.."Ooh thats why"

Hopefully they remove every INCH of whatever offense we've been running for the last how many years!!!!

Hopefully, they add some WCO stuff and use a lot of motion and quick release plays.

This team has the personnel for it and it could help with the run game.

I have been asking about the system/scheme for a minute now. Wondering if they are putting in new verbiage, new concepts, etc. that Prescott needs to learn.

No definitive response has been given. I hope the system is a new one.

Yeah with all due respect to the OP, this is a comfort Dak Friendly transition offense keeping pretty much all the Kellen Moore principles in place.
Remember the former SB winning coach McCarthy stating there would remain 80 percent of the same Moore offense?
That still applies imo.

Some kinda simple tweak here or there maybe. But Im pretty sure it's not gonna resemble some new innovative cutting edge playcalling of the Reid/McVay/Shanahan/Payton variety with regards to nuance and/or complexity.
If anything maybe resembling Dak's original Linehan run offense with timely play action.

I don't think a more cerebral offense is coming.
If anything, even more simple.

And gosh help 'em once opposing defenses start loading the box to stop the run.
Because historically, this offense has had a hard time beating that.

The more that things change the more they stay the same.

I don’t think you are gonna have to stack the box to stop this run game.

We have more receiving options now, but I really feel that Schott is going to really try his best to run the ball.
Let's hope that we can accomplish both this season.

Yep, good call.

I know MM didn't like to use a lot of motion as he was so worried about pre-snap penalties. If they cannot play disciplined football they have to find the players who can.
