Will the start of free agency tell you anything about this team in 2023

Are they sitting back again, or do they actually want to get this right? What do they need to show you, to make you believe they're trying to contend for a championship. Please give your thoughts.
Who is available that they can get to improve. And how many of those will be resigned by their current team, or tagged.

I do not expect them to be big players.

They will do the same thing they always do. let the high priced guys get signed and look for cheaper options to fill gaps before the draft. Then have a good draft. We will hear all sorts of cool stuff about camp. then pedestrian pre-season where no one of substance see's much time. Then lose the starting game cause rust and new coaches etc. Then win a few games to get you excited. Then barely miss the playoffs or make the playoffs and lose in the wc round.

They have improved and they have gotten some talent in the draft and in some cases they got some good deals on cheaper FAs that have panned out enough to help out even if it is not a starter but in rotation,
Agree. I don't expect any high priced FA. I've always believed that the FA positions this team goes after will tell us the positions we will address in the draft. It happens frequently.

My guess is that they're just going with what they have, draft players, and fill holes with FA. That's how this team works.

I wish they'd consider what is needed to get over the top and act either through FA or trade, maybe use the draft to accomplish this, but I won't hold my breath. I honestly think they don't know how best to do it. It's not easy.

Lol, they’re going to be lucky to be able resign half their own players they’d prefer to keep.

You know they're going to do the same thing they have done for the last several years. They will NOT spend big money on a FA, much less get into any bidding wars for a particular sought after player. So, it's easier to just accept that fact, and move on. They will eventually sign some middle and lower tier FA's after all the smoke is cleared.
