Will TO become a Commander?

every year we hear the Commanders going into cap-hell in early season and every year they manage to still work within the cap. although they may end up with large sums of dead money, they're pretty creative in working out new contracts.

they may not be able to bring in an abundance of free agents as before, but if they want someone, they're usually good about restructuring current contracts to clear some cap-space for new signings.

Tags won't let his team suffer-that's why they're going to the Super Bowl.

Yeah, maybe when Tags retires we can have Stephen Jones become Commish.

I would say that it wouldnt be out of the question at all. Washington is riding an aging QB, just like we are, so the opportunity seems to be here for the next few years only. They dont really have too many picks, and are banking on Campbell to carry them when Brunell is gone.

Brunell has been pretty good this year, but if they want to suceed after he is gone, they are going to have to get a WR who can be more of a possession type...Campbell who will step in inexperienced will have a harder time making check downs to Cooley and the other backs, much like most young QB's

If I were a Commander fan, the possbilty of TO to Washington would be intriguing. Right now I think Washington is the best team in the Division where all three teams (excluding ther sliding Eagles) are not that far apart.

The Skins have a solid vetran QB and RB. What hinders their offense is that they're not as multi-dimensional in their passing offense; meaning that if S.Moss does not come up with the big play they're hard-pressed to have another WR come up with one.

While the same can be argued for Dallas - that they're sitting pretty at QB and RB, we at least also have options to spread the ball around to recievers (provided we have an OL that can take care of itsrlf and not tie-up our TEs for blocking support). Therefore it can be argued that the Skins have more of a need for TO than we do.

So, Does Danny-boy pull the TO-trigger? You have to admit, given all the "TO to Dallas" talk, I'm sure Sneyder's nervous about that and would like nothing more than to pull the TO-rug out from under us, while at the same time bringing in a top-noth receiver to D.C. to soludify his offense.

Any tohughts?

I really doubt it. The Foreskins are about 25 million over the cap next year. It will be another slice and dice offseason.

they are eating 9 mil this year for the Coles contract. That will be 100% off the books next season.

We've heard since 99 that the Skins are a year or two away from Cap Hell. When it happens, wake me up.

Why wake you guys up? I am sure Danny Boy has a direct link to heavenly favors.

I am just too happy that Mr. Dingy Snider not associated with my Cowboys and think the Skins deserve him athletes foot breath and all.

Well they knew what they were getting with ST and oddly enough it was a choice between him and Winslow Jr...so who knows what they would or would not do.

I don't think they would...they got their playmaker in Santana Moss and what they need now is someone to work on the other side...They just need a steady dependable guy on the other side IMO.....maybe more in the possession WR mold.

 Gibbs is just as big a turd as the next guy, don't let the "Christian" act fool you. He's all about winning trophies, he could care less what happens to the team, you, or anybody else after he's gone. If he and Snyder think TO will ensure that, then he'll be there.

Well, that's purely speculative. And it's not up to Gibbs; it's up to Sneyder and I can easily see him going after TO. With Brunell at QB - whom I like very much by the way as a QB - the window of opportunity for the Commanders is dwindling because of Bruneell's age. This makes a TO-to-Washington campaign interesting, even if it's for s year or two. As a Cowboys fan I hope this move does not happen!!!
