Last year we were the 2nd worst defense in the league. We just spent our only premium pick on offense when there were a number of good DTs available. The board is clamoring to spend the rest of the picks....on offense. Jerry spent bottom dollar on a bunch of FA rejects.

Is no one else concerned by the thought of having to watch our defense get abused week after week after week?

When healthy we have two of the top Corners in football, along with arguably the best pass rusher in football. Add in a bright young superstar Overshown (when healthy). We just added Dono EZ, who led CFB in sacks, and a top corner. Not to mention two DT’s.

Health is always a concern, but if healthy it’s not bad at all.

Diggs isn’t healthy, doesn’t tackle when he is healthy and gives up lots of yards.

Jerry believes in corners and pass rushers, whose games are mitigated when behind in a given game.

Can’t look at averages with this team. They are going to hang good numbers against bad teams they can get a lead on, then cover and rush more easily…or get absolutely murdered up the gut against the better teams that can both realize and execute that.

Either way there’s no tangible reason to believe they will be anything different than a ‘beat up on bad teams and get smacked by better ones’ type of team.

Looking at last season's defensive stats game by game, that's about what happened with a outlier game.

Took them forever to realize they couldn’t run dudes like Alan Ball and Jeff Heath out there at safety and expect to win.

Maybe someday they will figure that out about DT.

I love getting the big ugly in the draft but I'm seeing the same situation in the LB Corp as last season.....there's no bulls back there that's gonna scare an offensive coordinator in the NFL.

I'm not seeing Kenneth Murray or Sanborn as needle movers in 2025.

In Sanborns case the Bears didn't even tender him nor were their any last minute negotiations to keep him. That speaks volumes

again, this will have a lot to do with the success of our offence. If the O improves and stays on the field, our D will be better by default. Outside of the appearance of a much-improved OL, tons of question marks elsewhere so until this part of the game improves I don't see much hope on the other side of the ball

top defense in multiple categories, that become related. 3rd down conversions, yards, scoring.

we are no where near being a top 15 defense with this sorry arse bunch. pass rush or no pass rush.

I don't think this current FO will ever figure things out. They are too obsessed with rolling the dice in hopes that they will find a player with massive upside that they can pay pennies for. Cannot grasp that not overthinking something is the way to go.

SMH why even bother when all you see is a lost season?

I was pounding the table for them to take one of these stud 1Ts but they didn't do it with anyone I had on my radar. But I still think this defense is better than it was last year. And IMO last year was a mainly just a fluke. There are a ton of very good football players on this defense. They will be middle of the pack, at the very worst. I see top 12
