Will we do right thing w/ Barber ??

Barber isn't 100% and I think he is playing simply because he wants to. It kills him when he's out. He needs to sit until he is 100% while he still can.

I don't think anyone (I know I'm not) is talking about getting rid of Barber. I'm talking about giving Choice more carries and getting him more involved in the game plan. He's earned it and I think he's the most COMPLETE back we have. He can do a lot of things and we should take advantage of it. The truth is, when they're all healthy we have an embarrassment of riches at the RB position. We need to make sure we use them.

I'll try to clarify my remark,I used the word "discard" somewhat loosely.I don't think you want to start Choice, provided Barber is healthy after the bye.Barber is the most passionate player this offense has,in essence he is the heart of the offense.Barber needs to be used to set the tempo in the 1st quarter,in the 2nd and 3rd quarters it should be Choice and Felix getting the majority of touches with Barber closing the game out.I don't know how this would play out week to week, but it should be explored.

Not with Jason Garrett as your Offensive Coordinator.

Jason Garrett thought Brad Johnson was a great addition.

Jason Garrett went an entire game without giving Felix Jones a carry.

Jason Garrett is jut now finding out how good Miles Austin is.

Jason Garrett continued to trot Marion Barber on the field today, even though it was clear that Tashard Choice was a better option.
I'm starting to think that Jerry is behind all this. I mean he is the one that paid him a seven-year, $45 million contract with $16 million guaranteed, including a $12 million signing bonus. I guess he wants his monies worth at the expense of keeping the better/healthier/cheaper player off the field.

choice is a complete running back who gives 110 percent.

barber is an unbroken horse who gives 110 percent.

felix is a freak of nature who gets hurt 110 percent.

choice should be the starter with marion and felix sprinkled in.

I disagree JonJon.

Jason Garrett has complete autonomy over this Offense.

I think Jason Garrett is very inexperienced, overrated and struggles to integrate weapons into the Offense.

Remember all those reverses we run with Patrick Crayton? Why couldn't Miles Austin get some of those, just to get him in the game.

One key element of a good Offensive Coordinator is to recognize talent and to understand what everyone on your roster can do.

Jason Garrett should have been fired for continuing to stick with Marion Barber.

Joe Buck seemed to be miffed as well. It was embarrasing.

Lane, you may be right.

The only thing Marion Barber does better then Choice at this point is Blitz pickup but that will come with more game experience.

Barber may well be the most passionate player on the roster, but I think Choice is more talented. Barber is very good, but a great many of his plays are made simply on heart. Now, don't get me wrong, I love heart and we certainly have players that could learn from Barber when it comes to that. However, I think Choice is more skilled than Barber. Just my opinion. Again, I want Barber to get his touches, but Choice needs more than he's getting. Considering we have three tremendous backs, I guess someone is always going to be disappointed with their touches. Good problem to have.

Maybe, but if a pencil necked, bumbling idiot who is annoying as anyone can tell Tashard Choice needs to be in the game, then what does that say about the annoited one, Jason Garrett.

If Jason Garrett becomes Head Coach, this franchise is in deep trouble.

Lots of legitimate debate about who should start and who should not.

Having said that, our coaching staff are certified 100% Grade A morons for continuing to play Barber when it is clear that he is hurt and Choice at the same time is showing he can get it done.

Actually Troy as well as Buck could both said that Choice was more effective and needed more carries. Troy said it in the first half, initially.

Even Barber at 100%, it is clear that Choice should be starting and Marion in short yardage/4th quarter pounding the rock.

But this franchise is always a year behind...cutting Roy Williams (safety) took too long, firing Campo, letting Julius Jones go, and the inevitable Wade being fired will be a year too late.

Pull the damn trigger...start Choice...I rest my case below:

Barber is not 100%, that's obvious.

But, something I said in the off-season, I think Choice can/should be the starter, w/ Barber the short yardage/goalline guy and Felix the change of pace for either (the guy that can come in on downs 1, 2 or 3).

It's not a slight to Barber, it's a way to protect him for the late season run IMO.

I'd also like to see Choice involved as a pass catcher more. There was a play that Aikman pointed out where Choice lined up wide and was WIDE OPEN if Romo would have turned to him. That was a very similar play to the one where Romo was hit/fumbled last week vs Denver. Choice was out there on his own. If you throw it to Choice, odds are it pulls the blitzer off to cover.

Understood.

I only mentioned Joe Buck because he doesn't know as much about football as Troy Aikman.

And if a person like Joe Buck can recognize a trend, then what does it say about Jason Garrett?

That Choice is more skilled than Barber is arguable at this time, that may change though with more playing time for Choice. Now if when Barber is 100% and Choice is showing more than Barber you may be on to something. At this moment I still go with Barber(if healthy) because of the passion he brings to the game.Overall I cannot disagree with anything you say,I'm just looking at it slightly different at this time.I hope Felix can get and stay healthy,he just brings that "wow" factor that you can't teach a player. This team is set at the running back position if they can stay healthy, which like you said,is a good problem to have.

just putting my two cents in

Gee, Barber is really unappreciated it seems

He runs like a violent and crazy centaur (in a good way)

I like Choice but lets curve the better talk at least for now
I don't think anything is proven as far as that goes
