After all is said and done, and he leaves when his contract runs out

will we remember him? say 5-10 years from now?

this has nothing to do w/ Prisco making up stuff that Wade should be looking over his shoulder, I don't believe that

Cowboys fans never forget, the real question is will we remember him fondly or not.

Will he be remembered like Jimmy Johnson or Chan Gailey

It's hard to say at this point, but after his first season, I'd have to give him an A. Yes, the team tanked, but Wade did an awesome job of pushing the right buttons to get these guys to enjoy football again. Yeah, I said it. The Cowboys didn't enjoy football anymore under Parcells. Time will tell with Wade, but if he can coach the Boyz to 13 or so wins every season he's here, he should be remembered and in a good way at that.

No doubt we'll remember his two years here. Especially that run into the second round of the playoffs in his first season.

13-3 heh heh.

Nah, the guy is so forgettable it's not even funny. Right now he is greatly overshadowed by a second year offensive coach. Nothing to remember there.

Yeah, I will.

I will remember he did what no other head coach has done: got Ellis to record his first ever double digit season.

I will also remember him as the coach that finally generated a pass rush that looked decent since the mid 90s.

I will also remember him as the head coach that yielded one of our best offenses.

Are you kidding me?

The answer is of course we will.

How many people have forgotten Switzer for crying out loud.

But Switzer brilliantly coached us to a SB win.

Ok, so the brilliantly part is somewhat exaggerated.

(Hey big dog, just noticed you and I joined at the same time and you have like 23 times the amount of posts than I do. My avatar must explain it. I was making babies while you were making posts!)

i think we're gonna remember him as the coach who insists 13-3 and one-and-done in the playoffs was a "good season".

coach cupcake.

13-3 was very close to 10-6 or 9-7.....

You guys know what I mean... Detroit game, Giants games, Buffalo game....

I hope he has enough success to make everyone remember him, not just cowboys fans

The only thing is, that it was 13-3 and not 10-6/9-7
Doesnt matter how we win games.

To answer the question, yeah I will definitely remember.

Thus far he has done better in his 1st year as Cowboys HC than any coach we have had. Tell me how many Cowboy coaches went 13-3 their 1st year on the job?

Not many. Add to that not many was predicting Dallas would play as well as they did last season.

Not trying to sound like a cocky and spoiled Cowboys fan, but due to the success of the majority of Wade's predecessors, this job isn't about going 13-3.

We had a very good regular season. However, if Wade Phillips were to retire today, sure I would remember the 13-3 record, but I would also remember the various negative aspects of his tenure as well.

The reality is: he wins, we remember him fondly. He loses, he becomes a footnote. I am hopeful that the good ol' boy from Texas will realize his dream.

He has only coached 1 season in Dallas. 13-3 was a great season and falling short in the playoff hurt but this is not the 1st time this team even Cowboy teams who were favored at the start of the season failing to make it to the SB. No doubt the ultimate goal is to win SB but going out and winning and competing at a high level is what the job is about if not then more coaches are failure than successful.
