Williams, Clark, Osa vs. Carter, Davis, Ojomo

Hadn't seen 'em play together, yet, but I feel good about it. We're going to need a dope draft and solid off season, but we can field an above average defense next year by merit of having a solid front.
That's right.

revel with no camp and no minutes played in the NFL and YOU think he is going to step in and become Deion part deux?
Oh no Revel will make some mistakes and get burned a time or two, but I believe he will stick around. He will get some experience, and be ready for next season.Revel needs to gain some confidence , seems to have a good work ethic and drive to be great. He is a long corner.

Stop it some of you. Of the top 3 its Dallas and not really close. Both teams have a star. Then the Cowboys have two more good players and Philly one. Ojomo is the outlier and the one that makes the question lopsided. Osa and Clark vs Davis and Ojomo isn't even close to being a discussion.
Ojomo is really good

Jalen Carter just by himself makes them better!
Agreed he's arguably the best defense player in the league when he's on his game, which he has been when it really counts. He's like Chris Jones that way. I won't pretend to have an opinion on Quinnen as I've never seen him play (which is probably true for 90% of the people here posting with a strong opinion) so I'll hope for the best but will have to watch to see if he's in the Carter/Jones category.

But you can keep saying that ,but I know better, I like Marist ,he's just being thrown in there and expecting too much from him too soon, some guys need to develop, so when you take the pressure off and you bring him in among some better players with a better front in front of him..

you realize that all works together right the front 7, it's been all out of whack, I'd like to see these guys when it's back a little tighter and that includes getting Donovan Wilson back Malik hooker getting the veterans in there to give him another shot to see what it looks like with a better front that would swear it all starts..

You're allowed your opinion but II think you're wrong he's one of our more aggressive linebackers he plays hard he hits hard he's always looking to knock the ball out and yes he's got to learn to position a little more like gap control staying on your blocks a little longer but he can be taught that I just think Talent wise he's one of our better linebackers.

I'm going to say it again he can't help being thrown into one of the worst defensive schemes ever and then having just about everybody get hurt around them and not having a leader at all in Sanborn or Murray to help guide him at all so yeah let's be real here you can hate on the guy all you want some of them been saying that about OSA as well like he got paid and he's been a ghost it's not true when everyone started breaking down film and find out he's had a lot better year than you think but it's hard to see our eyes because the rest of it is so messy....
You have hit on something quite true. When the defense is allowing 40 points a game, fans immediately jump on the DC or start calling out individual players as jags. The reality is that many players are likely playing sound defense. But it only takes 3 or 4 players missing their assignments, to make the entire scheme look bad. And those 3 or 4 players are mostly in the secondary - guy playing, who would otherwise be on a practice squad - were it not for injuries to starters.

I would argue the Eagles still have the better DT rotation. But the wild card is Jordan Davis. I have seen him turn it on and become unblockable, a real force in the middle of that defense, even when Carter was on the sidelines. But other times he seems a little lazy and maybe not giving 100%. If he is motivated he really is an excellent player. And I still think Davis has room to grow as a player.

That is exactly what's happening even in games let's just say the Cardinals game look at how many times on first and second down the defense actually on 2 or 3 Series made big stops they had 5SACKS they probably could have had more However when it was 3rd and long or 4th and long somebody lost their damn mind they didn't do their job sometimes it only takes one if the quarterback is watching and it takes one breakdown one slip one fall one backwards move that you should have went forward hitting the wrong gap and they'll get you for a big play and that's what's going on here...

It doesn't seem to be the same player on every player you can try to fix that you're right it's 3 to 4 players they're not doing it on every play but somebody'd always at a position...

That's why I'm saying I think the last eight games you put those guys back in even if you don't think they played well at the beginning of the year and see how they play now with a better front maybe Logan Wilson/Overshown helps in the center and just maybe Matt sees the error of his ways and he plays more like he did against Washington the Jets the second half against Philly and last week the defense in some ways played pretty well except for the breakdowns on 3rd and long and 4th and long which is strange they played really well on 1st and 2nd down most of the time..

And in the end I think it made it worse and I know that's weird but because they played so well on a lot of downs it took the Cardinals forever to score and they were eating up six to nine minute drives and they were keeping our offense off the field and still scoring they'd end up scoring anyway I don't know what's worse maybe we should have let them score easier so we'd have had more time on offense...

It's been a strange year I don't think I've ever seen our defense be this bad even Mike Nolan but being that was in 2020 I don't remember every week it's very familiar but I just feel like this is the worst..

Typically, you see improvement and you start getting it like by game eight or 9 and now you have some kind of thing to count on and right now the defense there's nothing to count on....

So hopefully we see something different the last eight games if for nothing else they give us a preview of 2026 on how these new additions start coming together and whether Matt is getting fired or not because if he can't do something better with what he has now and a healthier team you know we have guys like Revel coming back with butler etc

I realized this year is probably not gonna bear out anything positive but I'm looking to see what this team does the state fighting stay competitive and improve so we can maybe use that for next year at least as fans, see something positive..

..Pass, long as Eberjoke is present. Dallas stands at disadvantage point.

He's the Midas touch in reverse. Remaining games will be close.

Dak & Co have to play LIGHTS OUT from here on out.

I like Clark and think he has a great position here in a rotation, im most interested to see what Q Williams does for Osa though, to me thats where your going to gain the type of pass rush that can make the edges look stellar. We will see

he is not baring a near miracle be a difference maker this year
Overshown will depend on how much he trusts his knee
and remember he was reckless and made a fair number of mistakes last year
so the idea that these two are going to make a big difference this year just does not track
Williams and Wilson should but when you need to improve at virtually every position to become a good D that is not enough
which is why I would have skipped on Wilson who is too old and either gotten another younger LB or just played all young guys this year to find out what they had
Williams could make a major difference; if Clark can pick it up alongside him, we would be in the best interior condition arguably since the 90's. Our Run D SHOULD improve but with the weakness at CB and above all else a really poor safety crew the pass will be our great weakness

The easiest fix for this is pressure up the middle, i think Osa might benefit more than anyone from this trade.

Been disappointed in him
sadly following the pattern of once paid soon forgotten

It won't change a damn thing even if we go back to the Bears game or the second half of the Philly game or the Cardinals game and take away the mistakes spot them 20 points or more it's going to be just like this think about Prescott Rookie of the Year think about how he battled back three times at least in that game to tie the game or to take the lead and they left too much time on the clock is that what we're going to do again we're going to talk about please don't leave anytime for the defense on the clock because they're going to suck and let aaron rodgers score anyway.

This defense is far worse than that you can't leave them 30 seconds on the clock because they could probably give up a touchdown in one throw or one 75 yard touchdown run it doesn't matter they get in field goal range so fast we're going to lose all these games unless we score 50 is that what you want is that what you're asking is that what your expectation is absolutely ridiculous saying Prescott and company have to play lights out because the defense can't do **** the defense sucks so bad we expect a score on every drive or we lose that is what we're talking about we've seen this before...

Do you remember the Miami game from a couple years ago it might have even been in Miami Prescott with about four minutes left drove us down took a one point lead and guess what happened we lost the game it doesn't matter if you leave too much time on the clock this defense will suck the life out of you and lose games...

Do you remember in 2022 having a 17 point lead and a 14 point lead on the road against Jacksonville and against Green Bay we lost those games in overtime This is what happens you're asking the offense to nearly play perfect and that's unfair and it's unfounded and I'm not having it The defense needs to play lights out..
The fantasy football groups that we have in here that put expectation on scoring points on every drive scoring a ton of points making the offense the focal point is getting old the defense needs to do their job whole teams under 20 points or probably losing that's it It is not fair to ask an offense to continually score close to 30 points to even have a chance..
I feel like if you leave any time on the clock at all no matter what the score is our defense is gonna give up another score that's it that's how it feels I don't think that's right to expect the offense to do that and that's the pressure they're feeling that's what happens in a game like the Cardinals where they start doing too much they start over thinking they start making mistakes because they know they almost have no shot to win a game right now :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:  ..

You can watch him play if you want to, any time you want....

It's 2025.

For sure. There's no hope for this guy. But I'm talking about next year with a competent DC.
