CBS is giving a guy with no experience one of the best jobs in sports broadcasting. Why would they give him an out clause? He didn't have that much leverage.

I don't know what the market was for Romo, but if he was offered the 1st team with CBS, who knows what Fox was offering, maybe 2nd team? We really have no idea what leverage he had. He could have been offered Sunday night or Monday night or Thursday night as well...

Anything is possible. Aliens could have offered him a deal.

When discussing things that are probable, it is highly unlikely that Romo had any leverage.

He was offered the top job in CBS football but you don't think he had any leverage. I don't understand that logic.

In any other profession if you are offered the top job, then you are highly valued and you have leverage!

It’s fun to speculate about that, if Dak were to go down in Week Two, would Tony come back?” Wilson recently said, via Scout.com. “I don’t know the answer to that. I just don’t know. Do I think he’s capable of coming back and playing? Most definitely. Does he want to or what his commitment is to the network? I don’t know that, so it’s fun to think about, and it’s fun water-cooler topics to talk about [even without] information to make a definitive answer on that.”

In defense of this article, the writer did actually get a Cowboys coach to comment on a possibility that has been the subject of much discussion. I appreciate someone getting that perspective rather than just regurgitating the speculation.

We have Kellen Moore as our backup, so that makes this a pertinent question to ask and has nothing to do with the Cowboys' confidence in Dak as the starter. Other than the misleading thread title that has been corrected, I don't see why fans are offended by this. There's no reason to feel threatened.

Only time I can remember a player coming out of retirement and contributing to a SB was Tony Liscio for the 71 Cowboys team and he was a guard/tackle as I recall.

Very hard to do, and even if Romo were to (which IMO is terrible business decision on his part) would he be able to make a run of 6 or 7 games, including playoffs?

Can't wait for offseason to be over with.

Meh, if Dak gets hurt, you'll get Kellen Moore or Colin Kapernick and like it, Wade Wilson.

It would be more fun to speculate when Wilson leaves the organization. Of course he would like to see Romo back because he didn't have to coach him....now he has to actually do his job.
