Cedric Wilson is our #3 WR and is playing very well. The last couple of games he's made big plays on offense. We all know he's a very good special teams player who will selflessly make tackles and then come in and play Wr in Gallup's absence. Last week he broke ankles for a receiving TD and this week he had a completion.
You could tell that he saw how open our WRs were on that play, Lamb was wide open. And if that pass was thrown deeper, it's a TD.
But nonetheless, a great play call and gain.
He's one of those players I always hope gets some opportunities.
This isn't Gallup vs. Wilson. Just appreciating Wilson for taking advantage of his opportunities and making plays.

I think he's going to make either Gallup or Cooper expendable. No, I am not saying he's better than Cooper but when the Cowboys survey their cap situation, it may just make more sense to keep Wilson around on a much cheaper deal than pay Gallup a big contract or have Cooper eating up $20MM in cap space.

Wilson is becoming a play maker .

It helps that we still have Pollard on a 4th round contract next year

Keep in mind Gallup, Wilson, Brown, and Turner and ALL UFA's after this season so Dallas is going to have to take a serious look at the WR position in terms of who they will look to bring back, who they will let go, and possible draft/free agent needs.

With Cooper counting $22M against the cap next season with only $6M in dead money remaining, would Dallas be better off trying to bring back Gallup & Wilson for a similar amount as Cooper? Just something to debate.

(Also keep in mind TE Schultz is an UFA free agent after this season and Pollard is an UFA after the 2022 season)

Wilson is the clear #4 over him but I think Noah Brown is a good #5 as well. I do think a lot of people are convinced (including myself) that considering we probably can't afford to pay Gallup that Wilson is capable of starting in the slot. I also wouldn't be surprised if we draft another receiver (I saw a mock of us taking Jevon Heighley from my alma mater CCU in the 4th round, I think that would be great). Honestly I think Wilson is as good with the ball in his hands as anybody. He might not have the speed CeeDee or Coop have but he can make guys miss.

Aren't Gallup and Wilson free agents after this year? The more Wilson shines the less likely the Cowboys can afford to keep him. This will be like the Chido - Brown decision only with Wilson and Noah Brown. And the Cowboys will keep Noah Brown because he will be less expensive. Gallup and Wilson will play for new teams in 2022.

As for Cooper, Maybe they can afford to keep Gallup and Wilson if they trade Cooper. But my guess is they will restructure Cooper's deal to free up CAP space rather than trade him.

I can't argue, we have to be mindful of Cooper's age and health. It doesn't seem to matter who Prescott throws to, they all make plays.

We have to continually get younger, so I could see letting Cooper go.

Many on here have liked him for a few years. He’s getting his chance and making the most of it.

What kind of comp pick will we get for Gallup ?
Who I like, but know we can’t really afford.

I am not going to concern my self over any contract / roster situations until the off-season. A lot of football left to be played.
And it is a moot point to speculate.

I will just enjoy the fireworks along the road to the SB. :D:flagwave:
