Very true. Even Colin said our problems are not Romo. He made a great point, and this was true yesterday. We have to drive it 10 plays to score most of the time. It is hard to sustain drives 3-4 times a game with 10 play drives. Also thought this was NE problem not as well. On the flip side watch Philly how fast they go score. My opinion after watching yesterday is that he is correct. My frustration in watching this team is we seem to be really having success on offense, but we don't win these games. We have 2 LOOOONG drives yesterday and get 7 points on one and stuffed on the other.

I wouldn't place too much blame on Romo but the most glaring observation in the game, for me, was the difference between an elite QB in Rivers & Romo.

One can make the throws, even in tight coverage...The other, cannot

Don't get it twisted.....Romo can make the throws....he has just STOPPED attempting to make them in an effort to please his critics. That works against bad teams. Or that works when the special teams and/or defense are providing good fields posistion. But to ask an offense to drive 90 yards multiple times a game is simply asking too much. The big play needs to return to the Dallas offense.

He is taking the heat when we lose in spite of the fact he is NOT the reason we are losing. So Tony and Garrett need to let it loose. Seriously. I will live with a pick if it means he is going to throw 4 TDs. Because right now this dink and dunk BS is not working. Especially when we cannot get the PR and KR teams to provide us with any kind of field posistion.

Tony has the BIGGEST heart on this team and he has shown in the past that he is NOT afraid to FAIL. And there are not many coaches and players on this team I can say the same thing about.

Romo impressed me yesterday despite throwing a couple very bad balls that should have been picked off and returned for INT's.

With that said...the cowboys need to stop getting fancy on offense. Yesterday it seemed you guys couldn't find an identity as either a rushing or passing team. And there were many good plays made both rushing and passing by your offense.

I guess the Jason Garrett critics are right, maybe he's not the genius I thought he was.....

Agreed, Romo is a very good QB but not an elite one that all us fans want him to be.

I also agree with the Charger fan above, our O doesn't have an identity right now.

But I don't think unleashing Romo is the answer as they have been more successful overall since reeling him in. He is playing pretty well. We had a chance to win yesterday against a better team and could have won in NY. The team just needs to execute when given the chance.

"Unleashing" your QB is usually a recipe for losing against better opponents. Chuck it up there 40-50 times, and you will probably be on the losing end of things. I'll take the Romo of the last two weeks and pray that EVERYONE ELSE friggin' does their jobs.

Philly might score fast, unless you take away the big play like we did. They're incapable of driving the length of the field.

The defense limited them for sure, but the reality is also that, they had the ball back with 9 minutes left and just took the air out of it.

That was my problem. You can't let a team without a running game chew up clock like that on you when you are down seven. You just can't.

I've been a harsh critic of Rom on here, but it's hard to bash him for his play the last couple of weeks. Vs NYG and SD, Romo has done what Dallas has needed him to do: NOT SCREW UP. He's actually done well, especially in that Giants game where he shouldered the load.

On those 3rd/4th down and goal runs, Romo did what he was supposed to. For those of us on here (including me) BEGGING for more run plays, it's hard to say Romo did anything wrong. The OLine got no push. On 4th down in particular, the were stuffed and the LBs filled the gaps and got behind the line; Barber had nowhere to go. Though even if it had been handed off to Jones, there were 2 defenders in his path. That play was DOA to the huddle.

7pts there and the missed Folk FG (WTH is up w/ Folk???) is the game though.

Unfortunately, I think a big problem vs SD was lack of defensive pressure on the QB. I saw a few big blitz packages that were picked up easily by the Chargers. This left man coverage in the 2ndary and the size advantages for the Chargers were obvious. ALTHOUGH...even when the defense *DID* get pressure, Rivers was able to make a good enough pass (see the pass after the Ware injury).

The offense has the potential to do big things; a 99-yd drive vs this defense is impressive (makes you wonder how they couldn't get that 1yd earlier).

On the SD FG drive in the 4th QTR, hand down, Norv out coached Wade...BIG TIME. Dallas just could not keep up with what SD was doing. It was like SD was shadow boxing.

Can't pin point one thing to blame...this was a complete team loss.

Romo needs to get out of pocket.

I believe it is the difference in converting 3rd downs at times.
I believe it is the difference in opposing teams defensive gameplanning. They know he will be in pocket.

All they needed was atleast 20 to be in that game and left a TD and a field goal on that board. Just can't do that. You gotta score when you get the chance and that's been the story of this season. You can't leave field goals and let alone TD's on that board and expect to win. You can't overcome it. Not against a good team.

This is exactly our issue. We're good enough to leave points on the field and beat the bad/mediocre teams. We can commit penalties that kill drives. We can turn the ball over. We can go for it and come away with no points from the 1 yard line. That's all fine and good against the Washington's of the world, but when we're playing the Chargers? Or the Saints? That doesn't cut it.

It's all about seizing the opportunities that are presented in the game. We just don't do that very well.

There's really one game this year I blame him for. The Giants game at the start of the season he had 3 or 4 turnovers that led to 24 points. Outside of that Tony's been amazing.

I just want to see a bit more consistent play calling in crucial areas so we're not leaving points all over the field.
I want to see better execution on the offensive side of the ball. We left 10 pts on the field yesterday due to a lack of execuion offensively and on STs.

When you lose by 3 that is not acceptable.

I want to see better execution these last few weeks and thenwe'll take account of where we end up in relation to the rest of the NFC (not giving up yet. This team has not shown it's NFCCG caliber so far this year. but that doesn't mean they should just throw in the towel)

It'll be an interesting 3 weeks.
