If we win today there is almost no chance that next week matters so let's just win today and use next week as our bye.

What are the scenarios, if any, for a first round bye? Considering both GB and Detroit won.

Both Cards and Seahawks finish 11-5... that's it and if that happens next weeks game doesn't matter for us since Seahawks will win division and we have the tiebreaker on them

Here's the the thing though: I'd wager we play before the Seattle and Arizona games. If Seattle beats Arizona tonight, we at least have to try.

Nope at 12-4 Seattle is the #1 seed, at 11-5 they are the 3 seed if they win the division. We also can't win a tiebreaker against the Cards

And if Seattle loses to the Rams and the Niners beat Arizona?

It may be unlikely but we would have to try nonetheless.

Then the Seahawks will be division champions and even if we finish 11-5 we will have the tiebreaker on them

NEXT WEEK DOES NOT MATTER UNLESS SEATTLE TIES NEXT WEEK

looking at the standings, a home date vs. Arizona and a road game against #2 seed Detroit is the dream scenario

It's a long shot but if the Seahawks lose to the Rams there's a chance for the bye we have to beat Washington

That's really the best scenario. The other one is if we win out and GB/DET tie but that is very unlikely.

Screw that......

That's a recipe for disaster. You got momentum. You keep it rolling. All hands on deck for 60 minutes.

And if Murray reinjures his hand and Romo takes another knee to the back in a pointless game you won't crucify our coaching staff?

We wouldn't have to beat Washington if the Seahawks lose to the Rams and Cards lose to the Niners. Seahawks win the NFC West. Both teams would be 11-5 and the winner of the North would be 12-4. In that scenario we have the tiebreaker over Seattle.
