If Philly beats SF:
*Even if we run the table, Philthy probably still wins the division. but if SF loses and we end up with a better record, wouldn’t the Dallas/SF playoff be at Jerry World?
*A Philly win makes them more cocky, and you know the old saying…”the more you win (lose), the closer you come to the opposite.
*We match up better with Philly, and to see Sirianni blubbering on the sideline when we take them down in a big playoff game would be gold.

If SF wins:
*Would it crack the door for the NFCE crown?
*Early Christmas present to shut the Mouthbreathers up for a week?

Who do you want?

Wild card teams cannot play home games unless they play other wild card teams with worse records.

even if SF goes 9-8 but wins the division and Dallas goes 14-3 finishing 2nd to the Eagles, SF and even the NFC South division winner would host Dallas.

Ok, so who would you rather win, and why? Philthy or SF?

.. we got to still try and win out, and try to capture number one seed.
Need SF to win. Then Philly comes to Dallas with first place on the line.
Should Dallas win. It's a whole new ball game after that
I was told even with identical record Philly will win NFCE since their conference record is better

I would rather face Philly in Philly I think, even with the refs on their side, than face the 49ers in SF. But it is a tough choice.

I think teh Cowboys have a better chance of beating the Eagles anywhere. The 49ers seem to have our number.

But if the Eagles have "the refs on their side" then what's the point of playing? You already know who is going to win.

I see the built in excuses are starting already, like clockwork.

First of all I’m more afraid of SF than Phil. And I think they are playing better now ( their stars are healthy) but Phil looks like a team with destiny on their side.

Phil would need to lose to more than SF and Dal for us to take division while we win out. Not very likely.

I think Phil can lose to SF and still get #1 seed. We shall see but I’m not sure it’s going to matter for us. We have to root for SF just because it gives us more hope if we can beat Phil.

We are most likely looking at 5th seed. And no, if SF wins division they would have higher seed even if we had better record as WC.

They have 6 games left just like we do.

There is a probability that the Eagles lose each one of those games. It's like people have taken the hot streak fallacy and brought it over to the their chances.

We have to win out and the Eagles have to lose one of 5 games. That is it and that is all.

With that mentality there’s really no reason to play. I don’t buy into the conspiracies.

Bills had their shot to win at end of game and blew an open receiver for a TD just like Chiefs did previous week despite any poor or questionable officiating.

"Have to" in order to what? If the Cowboys win out and the Eagles lose to them and one other game, the Eagles still take the division. They have to lose 3 games, including the one to the Cowboys for the Cowboys to take the division.

Heres some deep thoughts for your quarry.

If we assume Phi will win division and #1 seed then that’s a scenario in which could root for SF to lose which would bolster Lions to #2 seed.

Which in the event we win WC game then while we travel to Phil then SF would travel to Det.

So if we win then perhaps Det would have a better shot at home against SF . And champ game could be Dal at Det instead of SF. That could be something to root for if we feared going to SF the most.

Right. If we beat Phi and end up with tie, Egirls win tiebreaker due to conference losses.

Egirls need to lose at least 3 while we win out for us to take division.

And why Chiefs and Bills games were so critical for us.

They have the tie breaker if we split the head to head?

Assuming one of their losses isn’t to the Giants, yes. Philly wins the common opponents and conference record tiebreakers.

The only way Dallas can win the division if both they and Philly finish 14-3 is if the Eagles lose to Dallas plus one of the two games they have against the Giants and Dallas wins the division record tiebreaker. Any other combination and Philly wins. Now if both finish 13-4 there are some other scenarios but it’s gets really hard to see the Eagles losing three more games.

Realistically Dallas’ only shot is to win out and for Philly to lose the next three. Otherwise you’re betting on the Cardinals or Giants to beat them.

If Philly loses to the Giants or the Cardinals. Their loss is to the Jets who we beat. Cardinals loss needs to get washed and either of those things does so.

That being said, the best realistic scenario for Dallas is to finish as the five seed, was the NFC south winner by 3 scores in the wild card round and then hope Philly hangs on for the #1 seed while Detroit/SF both win their wild card games. That send you to Philly, a team that clearly isn’t as good as SF this year, and give SF two changes to get upset before you have to face them in the NFCCG. Maybe you get lucky and the Lions upset them and you get to play Jared Goff for the chance to go to the SB.

But then it goes to conference record, and we’d have three NFC losses to their two. The only way Dallas can BEAT Philly out on the basis of common opponents or conference record is certain combinations of games that result in both teams being 13-4 or worse. At 14-3, there is NO combination where Dallas can beat out Philly unless the Eagles lose the division record tiebreaker by losing to the Giants as one of their losses (and losing to us of course)
