I wouldn't think there would be much profit in hosting high school games.

It's a what 90k seat stadium? So the attendance will be what? Half that. A third?

They have to pay people to run everything. Electricity. Water.

I am sure he wouldn't do it without making a nickel though.

If it's run anything like the Superdome, a lot of money is made from concessions....and volunteer groups run the concession stands. I used to work one of them for my sons' high school band (worst. job. ever.)

So Jerry wouldn't get a penny from the concessions? That's funny.

I am kind of surprised these high school playoff finals are not scheduled at these newer mega million high school stadiums.

No, that's not what I'm saying. He WOULD get the profits from the concessions, but it wouldn't cost him anything to run the stands if the people running it are volunteer groups. The volunteer groups only get a very small percentage of the profit.

Oh, and we got to keep 100% of any tips people gave us. They tip pretty good after a few beers (if the Saints were winning)!! :D

I guess the do it in domed arena to take the elements out for the players and the fans, other venues are the Alamodome and Reliant.

I'm not sure if you could tell unless you asked. We had to wear the same uniform that stadium staff wore, and unless you knew we were with the Grace King High School Band Boosters club, you would think we were stadium staff.

That's true.

If 10k of people showed up to watch the game I'd be surprised.

The big guys just won't let anyone else have any market share.

Even that .010 percent of the market has to be chewed up in such challenging times.

Capitalism at its finest.

I am glad the kids get to play there & all that but I still can't figure out how it would be profitable.

Only thing I can think of is as usual the big boys wanting even that minuscule market share in their sector of business.

Or some really cute football mom did Jerry a real nice favour.

One of the principles at the participating high schools has some serious dirt on Owner Jones?

Aside from the kids getting something nice happening to them, this is pathetic.

I don't get it but he puts other events in there that I would think would lose money.
