I feel for the fans that have yet to see this franchise succeed. That said they are far from a franchise that hasnt acheived success. I root for the cubbies and it was 108 years in between championships and it feels good when it happens. we arent even the longest in the NFL.

Yea, growing up a Baylor fan since my Dad, uncles, aunts and grandmother all were Alumni and myself eventually , the Bears were mostly a Dormant football program.

When they won their second SWC championship in 1974 which was 50 years since their first one, they called it “ Miracle on the Brazos”.

It’s a much different mentality rooting on following and supporting a losing program. Basically you expect to lose hoping to win. My father said “ losing builds character , it’s easy rooting for a winner , and you appreciate the victory much more after losing so long”.

My wife and her family are mostly Longhorn fans . And it is a different mentality. They have had much success and expect to have more. The pressure is much greater. I think this is what’s going on with Cowboys fans as well.

I’m an old enough fan that I recall being a fan in our expansion years before we even had a winning season so I’ve never taken winning for granted. And being a Baylor fan had prepared me mentally for this down era.

Plus we have a great reason why this era has been so disappointing, our narcissistic owner.

I agree as fans we approach things different. Some hang on toit like its everything and they take dissapointment worse than the players.(which btw is culture issue here). Some are more laid back and dont take the losses as bad. I get what your saying about the losing culture.

I myself have not been the type of fan that gets too up or down either way since Romo days. Its entertainment to me. I mean I want another lombardi for sure. Win or lose Im typically over it relatively soon.

Last time they won, the internet didn't exist as a usable medium.

People had pagers, not cell phones.

Monica Lewinsky hadn't happened yet.

Jerry was in his early 50s. McCarthy was 32. Dak was 2.

Gangsta's Paradise was the #1 song.

adjustments can be made; but are they the right ones and are the players smart enough to make them work?

Fans do react to losses differently, that's for sure. Losses still kill me and occasionally, I come here to complain and blow off steam. And I guess that upsets other fans that view that behavior as being a "hater." I wish I could say I'll never do it again, but that would be lying. By mid week, I'm looking forward to the next game.

At least I'm not behaving like a Euro soccer fan

My friend wants to know why the defensive adjustments were not made sooner ?
You don't make adjustments for blown assignments.

There's nothing schematic that would have changed the first long Dobbs run, for instance. There was an unblocked defender in the backfield (Parsons) who simply blew his assignment. That's the type of thing that happened all night.

Thanks for the insight.
I know against the midgets, beginning of the game, D Jones was gashing us on runs and we made a quick adjustment and shut it down.

Usally Dan is quick with ingame adjustments, like he was against the Midgets with D Jones running early in the game.
usually he is even he can have an offday although its hard to make adjustments to blown assignments. Its early hopefully last game was an exception and not the rule

We've been waiting for adjustments for 27 years.

When are they coming? A better question might be, who if their right mind thinks they will ever come?

Cowboys are my team, I will root for them until I die, but that's not to say I'm not bitterly disappointed in them....
