Thats what I said. Wistrom isnt going to be a major threat. Chances are they will stunt on the left side to throw off an unprepaired LT cause missed assignments. I AM worried about Bertrand Berry next week..

I still remember the screaming when we passed on Winstrom in the draft.

I want Tucker to push him into the earth face first a lot and let Campbell hit him in the lower back repeatedly.

The Seattle defense hardly strikes fear into your heart, but Shaun Alexander sure does. Despite losing Flozell and Crayton this week, my biggest fear is their running game. We've proved to be soft against the run this year, and I just hope their running backs to break out with a 4 TD game.

We stuffed LT - We are actually #8 in NFL against the run. We kept Alexander in line last year - 80 yards.

Your fears are unfounded but thats your right!

Actually we did not stuff LT. The Chargers, in their infanite wisdom, suspended Gates. They had to keep LT in to max Protect. If Gates had of played in that game, it would have been a totally different game. Gates is not your typical TE. He plays downfield alot. Even when he catches it 3 yards downfield, he can get df in a hurry.

We didn't pass on Winstrom. He was picked ahead of our pick by the Rams.

His fears aren't totally unfounded, we're 22nd in the league in yards per carry, at 4.3...

Our total rush defense standings are skewed by the fact opponents haven't really run the ball all that much against us-- 22.3 times, next to last in the NFL...

So it is perfectly legitimate to worry about what happens when we face a team determined to run the ball against us... and Seattle is second in the league in rushes per game, at 30.8... they also average 5.4 yards per carry, 2nd in the NFL... if they run the ball on us 31 times, and average between 4.3 and 5.4 yards per carry (split the difference, call it 4.8 yards per carry), that would be right at 150 yards rushing for the game...

Our run defense is gonna have to step up big time in this next game... I'll be interested to see if they can do it...

The only guy I can think of who gets his name mis-spelled more often is Jason WITTEN (not "Whitten)...

Could it be our defense hasn't been run on very much because we're among the league leaders defensively in 3rd Down Conversion % Allowed (6th in the league) and First Downs Allowed (2nd in league) and Time of Possession (1st in the league). Ending opponents' drives efficiently and controlling the ball limits the number of times the other team's RB can be used, no?

We've had a little trouble with larger, mediocre backs like Barlow and LaMont Jordan. Otherwise, we've done very well. Not saying Alexander won't roast our chestnuts, but we've been surprisingly good versus the quicker, cutback style runners.

I was just about to post that.

WISTrom was the 6th player taken. We had the 8th pick that year.

Dude is playing with crinks in his back.

Is undersized and has 1 sack. This guy is hardly the threat he's being made out to be here.....

I was reading a Seahawk board yesterday and their fans were pretty down on him. They said his lone sack was nothing more than a LONG coverage sack...

They said he is slow and has little burst left...
