I would have faked it - nothing to lose and Jones is one of the better punters for fakes.

This is the thing I say about Garrett. He doesn't do anything to get momentum on the teams side. I hate using Philly as an example but their offense wasnt doing much so pederson called a trick play on 4th down and then their offense exploded. Garrett doesn't help the team when it comes to coaching. I was ok going for it on 4th and 10 but earlier in the game we had 4th and short and punted. He should have went for it then too

You punt the rock deep and make Carolina play ... then hopefully you force punt and get the ball in Austin’s hands somewhere around the 50.

Yes we got the ball back eventually but on our 20.

Maybe they return the punt for a TD. Maybe Zeke actually makes a play and runs it in. Defense was playing well enough to punt there IMO.

Or maybe Dak makes a decent throw to an open receiver on that 4th and 10 and we get a first down. Then we have the ball with all 3 time outs.

The bottom line is the result always frames the narrative. Go for it and don't get it and it becomes "should've punted". Punt it and never get the ball and the narrative is "should've gone for it". Parcells summed it up best - the right call is what worked. Unfortunately, that's only viewable in hindsight.
