With an aggressive off season and draft, the Cowboys 2025 record could be?

Record? Find the bad teams on the schedule. All wins, one possible/probable loss. Maybe two, depending.

Find the good teams on the schedule. All losses, some total blowouts…one possible rare win.

What does that add up to, because they’ve been doing exactly that for quite some time. There are too many teams that don’t even beat the bad teams…and many of them end up lapping us because this strategy keeps Dallas in perpetual mediocrity. Not good enough to win, not bad enough to improve properly.

At this point I just want to see Jerry humiliated and to go out on the bottom, maybe make some old man remarks that get him in trouble. Rooting to win is fruitless for now. It’s getting to where I don’t even want to win just so he doesn’t.

it sad, but win or lose, JJ wins.

Cant get fans to accept tihs reality. Not saying you the poster.

JJ transformed the whole league over time. This is the reality of it.

If they stay healthy, hit on a OG, DT, CB in free agency, resign key guys in Lewis, Dowdle and Osa, and hit really well in the draft then 12-5 maybe 14-3 regular season and 2-1 in playoffs.

More than an aggressive draft and free agency, the Cowboys need to stay healthy.

As a DC, Zimmer's greatest challenge was replacing DEs Sam Williams, DeMarcus Lawrence, Micah Parsons and Marshawn Kneeland during their injuries.

Zimmer was also deprived the simultaneous services of two former All Pro CBs, Bland and Diggs. They only started one game together. When he finally got Bland on the field, Diggs got hurt again and was replaced by three other CBs in the last seven games. They lost their primary backup, Caelon Carson, for 11 games.

The Cowboys defense lost Overshown, who was having a breakout season, after game #13,

On offense, they lost their starting QB and WR2 for half the season. They lost their future HOF guard after game #10. Even their two rookie starters missed games.

Given moderate health, that 2024 team would have made the playoffs.

What I mean is this:

If the Cowboys had a defense, almost every week, that featured a DE rotation of Parsons, Lawence, Williams, Kneeland and Golston...

If they had a defense with a season long starting tandem of a healthy Diggs and Bland at CB...

If an injury-free Overshown had continued his breakout season...

If Cooks was completely available all season long

If Martin wasn't hobbled and could play injury free all season long....

If Dak didn't miss half a season....

They STILL would not have made it to the Super Bowl because they were missing two critical pieces, a veteran LT and a 2nd productive RB.

However, they would have made it to the playoffs, perhaps even to the NFC championship game.

The greatest improvement next season should be to their very young O-line.

And, I know the Cowboys have no choice but to draft RBs in two months.

The Cowboys don't have to be that aggressive in free agency and the draft. They just need to make the right choices and add them to a team that has the realistic potential to compete........barring injury.

I really can't think of any "strengths" on this team. Not one.
Lamb is a strength. Parsons is a strength. Aubrey is a strength. The QB was an MVP candidate and second team all Pro. Tyler Smith is a stud. Beebe looked good as a rookie. Our corners are good.

10 of 17 games vs. teams that were in the playoffs last season. The Cowboys are not going to “out draft” the rest of the NFL. Significant improvement can only come from prudent free agent additions. That’s not something the Cowboys are inclined to do. Philly will have to be cautious signing FAs, but the Commanders will be very aggressive. Schottenheimer’s first year as a head coach, staff working together for a first time. Quarterback coming off a fairly serious injury.

Jerry’s penchant for comp picks, knowing you only get them if you lose more players, more quality, to free agency than you sign, makes me doubt an all out effort to retain free agents will happen, certainly not add impact FAs.

Many things point to less wins next season, not more than last season. The Dallas Cowboys are a bottom half of the league NFL team. Optimism is great, 32 NFL fanbases have it right now. It’s not being a bad fan to be realistic.

You maybe right but the Cowboys actually beat three playoff teams in 2024. The Cowboys dominated Jayden Daniels in 5 of the 6 quarters they faced him. You automatically assume that all playoff teams from 24 will repeat that success in 25. 24 Cowboys and 49ers should let you know that will not likely be the case.

Cowboys do have some hope that the 24 draft can show real dividends in 2025. Along with some other young players. Overshown(a freak of nature) and Williams. Even the Michigan TE showed a little. The OL has pieces that can be sured up with good coaching

If the Cowboys can grab an instant impact player at 12, there is no reason why the Cowboys cannot be this upcoming seasons L.A. Rams

Sign a vet WR. Jerry loves him a vet #2 wideout. Add a stop gap upfront.

11-6 is not out the realm

Those eight teams won’t all make the playoffs, but they’ll all be very good teams again. Washington doesn’t get as close as they did and not genuinely go all in this off season. And they have the cap posture to do it.

First two reasons they won’t be “this upcoming season’s L.A. Rams”. Quarterback and Running Back. And if the Cowboys “#2 wideout” is being paid less than the Eagles’ and Commander’s #2 wideout in 2025 then Jerry isn’t interested is winning.

The Cowboys will go 5-12. The Peagles and the Commodes are no longer whipping boys. Jerry showed what "all-in" means, waste your CAP money and do nothing to improve the team.
