With Jerry's Commitment To A Parcells' Style Team, Who Is Our Next HC?...

....I know this has been discussed before, but after this weekend it is completely clear that Jerry is totally committed to building this team on both sides of the ball, from top to bottom, in the mold of a true Bill Parcells-style football team.

I, for one, like it. We are much bigger and physical than we were 3 years ago. I just wish Bill would have begun the process form the first day he arrived.

But, with all the talk about this being Bill's last year, (JJT and other media members are on record saying it's his last year) and Jerry even joking about some of these Parcells-type Jersey players, (Fasano), being here longer than Parcells will be, it raises the question WHO, will be the next HC?

With the total commitment to building the team in Parcells' image, you effectively limit the pool of HC candidates that will be considered when Parcells steps down.

Forget Stoops or any other high profile college coach, other than Charlie Weis. Weis is the logical successor to Parcells, and would be my personal choice to take over, but unfortunately, I don't think he is leaving ND anytime soon, if ever.

Perhaps Zimmer could be the guy, because he has been schooled in the Parcells way. I certainly don't want Zimmer as the HC, but it's a possibility as Parcells has invested a lot of time in Zimmer.

There has been talk of Jerry's respect for Holmgren, but does he fit as our head coach with what we are trying to put together with our personnel?

What are your thoughts? This is the subject that will be the main topic of discussion in a few months if Parcells steps down as many are predicting.

You know...I find it hard to believe that BP is gone after this year. I mean...why would leave when he just now finally got his "plan" implemented? Sorry, I know this post completely missed the point of the thread, but I was just thinking out loud.

Now I know why he is here. Drew Henson will be the next coach!

Well, Jerry Jones has already stated we're stinking with the 3-4 after BP leaves, so that tells me Jerry Jones will be our next coach.

I agree, but it just seems as if he is so worn out by the time the season is over. You have to know Jerry is thinking about it.

True. He goes into total hibernation to recharge. Maybe he should attend his own "voluntary" workouts and lose the inner tube.

What GM is going to want to switch schemes every 4 years? That makes no sense. Jerry also made a good point that back when Jimmy was here they went after smaller faster LBs when no one else was. It made it easier for them to find players that fit that scheme. Now it is easier to find 3-4 LBs and it makes more sense to go with that type of scheme.

Charlie Weis

It certainly is set up for him, if he wanted to come back to the NFL. Can you imagine him working with Henson? You have to know Jerry would be drooling at that thought.

I think Jerry will select the next coach with the help of Parcells. I think Jerry has respect for Parcells and his opinion and I think Jerry will seek Parcells opinion even after he moves on

It very well could be someone who we wouldn't even consider right now. Who would have thought Al Groh would have taken over for Parcells when Belichick left?

Who knows who would take over. Haley? Sparano?

It does limit us.

I guess we'll settle for whoever wants to be Jerry's next puppet

Mo Carthon possibly? Groh? I would bet on any off Tuna's former or present assistants? Weiss is a long shot.

Holmgren or Stoops. TO would have alot of fun with Stoops. As long as TO is here you need a NFL vet HC. The ideal Head Coach is a guy named Jimmy Johnson.
