With today's game now being an official, "Win or go home" game...

What's Romo's record in them, and when is someone going to go back and actually count games like this that would have ended the seasons sooner?

To me, it's kind of a ridiculous, made up stat to specifically make Romo look bad, but since it's there, and people on the talk shows keep wanting to bring it up, might as well.

Great question. I'm sure someone is typing right now about how you are looking at it all wrong. You'll be set straight here shortly.

The stat would only be added if Romo and the Cowboys lost. And lets not make too much noise about any 4th quarter December comebacks. Shhhhhh.

A good test of the value of a statistic is if it did not support your case would you still consider it to be a valid measurement of whatever you are trying to measure.

If the Cowboys record in win or go home games was better then his playoff record overall the statistic would be ignored by all who uses it. Only the playoff record would be considered valid measurement.

I agree, and I found the original thread about this topic, but here's what made me mad last year. We lost in Washington last year in a "win or go home" game and Romo was blamed. He did not have a good game but the whole team played bad. My issue was without beating the bengals and steelers, where the team and Romo played well, the Washington game would have been meaningless.

So fast forward to this year, Romo threw a game winning TD in the last minute and engineered 2 offensive drives to get points in the 4th quarter to help the team win the game. If we lose next week do we have to listen to how Romo can't win the big one?

Why are people sooooo eager to defend Romo every chance they get. His record in win or go home's can be that great given he's only played in four playoff games.

every win this season romo was "clutch"

I agree, next week I am not worried about Romo goating out, but I am worried about our defense, but I'm enjoying this win over the Commanders for the next couple days.

Btw, Deion Sanders just does not like Romo, it's like a personal vendetta.

People need to give these Romo threads a rest. He's our best chance to win but he's also not the same QB he was a few short years ago. Anyone that has watched him play from day 1 and is being honest with himself can see that his skills have declined. The INT was a horrible throw and the deep ball to Williams was woefully underthrown. Ironically, that helped us because it took more time off the clock but he doesn't have the arm or mobility. Maybe it's his back but his decline is obvious.

It's only an official win-or-go-home game in hindsight. It wasn't when we played it.

I don't know, because we are Cowboy fans and get enough grief from everyone else. Getting it from our own fans is really disheartening.

Romo has gotten Dallas to this point before...getting over the hump is the problem
