yeah but he just stood there and stared at the ball. watched it go by

Hmmm - a 260 pound guy who had just turned to look for the ball and couldn't have seen it until it was half way to its destination, and a pass that was 3 yards away from him .......... wonder why he didn't just become The Flash and zip on over to the ball - or Elastic Man and extend his arm to make the catch?

Do you really think Witten wouldn't have made an effort if he had seen the ball early enough and the ball was close enough that he could have reacted and got there?

Anyone remember that old Whodini song "The Freaks come out at night".

They should remake it but instead of coming out at night it should say come out after a loss.

pro bowl is a popularity contest.

As I said, though, his Pro Bowls were justified. His numbers in '04 were a little inflated. I don't really want Witten being a 1,000-yard receiver with our receivers we have now.

His stats last year (nearly 70 catches for 750+ yards) were very, very solid. Nearly top-notch.

I'm waiting for the "Newman is overrated" post.

After all, the bum doesn't even have an interception this year! :lmao:

Jason Witten is one of the best TE's in the league and anyone who doesn't have enough sense to realise that probably doesn't know what the heck they are talking about anyways.

I will cut Witten some slack as his old lady just gave birth. All of us with tots know that you pretty much go through the motions at work at first as you get no sleep.

He should have impregnated her at a better time of the year so that she would give birth in the off season.

Those are sweet sentiments, and so, uh, Canadian.

But CCF, I think you are doing Jason a disservice by repeating the idea that a cranky infant is impacting his game.

I'd bet my life Jason is not the one getting up for three AM feedings, and am pretty confident he's not being asked to.

Most players have kids while players..I never heard this excuse made for one of them before.

But then I don't think JW is playing poorly either. I think his blocking is sounder and his few drops not in 'worry' territory.

DUDE (far out) ..... it's great that you know everything the players know and see everything they see - you should be such a great asset to this website.

Without you I would have never realized that the fact that the ball was being thrown as Witten was turning and the fact that he had a defender in between him and the ball and the fact that Witten was trying to find some open space ALL had NOTHING to do with it ........ he was able to stop and watch everything from the second Bledsoe took the snap just like me and my son playing catch in the backyard ....... WHO KNEW ........?

I'm just wondering though - if the play were designed where Witten were to run to a spot, turn and stand there, and then watch Bledsoe wind up and throw, then why would Bledsoe have thought he would be anywhere else ...... ?

You see, I would have thought that Bledsoe was throwing to a spot and that the ball had to be in the air before Witten turned and watched everything .....I'm glad you cleared it up.

This isn't a knee jerk reaction by the way.:
Newly re-signed multimillionaire golden boy tight end Jason Witten has sucked all year. Forget the game changing wrong route he ran yesterday that caused an interception at the most crucial point in the game. Golden Boy has how many false starts, holding and other penalties? And how many drops? He might be the most OVERRATED player in the NFL.

Now the play calling. TO does have a very legit reason to yell at coaches on the sidelines. How many 3rd and one situations did they try and run the ball and not only got stopped short but lost yardage? Forget the crap about being "scared" about that bad boy pass rush
If you're that scared of an opponent you should forfeit the game and automatically take the loss.

I have seen a lot of stupid posts the past 18 hours but this excells at stupidity. Good Job.

Witten was 4 for 51 yards. Keeping those number he would be in track for 61 catches for 816 yards. Thats not bad for a tight end. He has done better, but it's still not bad. He didn't cause the INT, Bledsoe did. Witten was covered. He was trying to break coverage.

he's dropped two balls all yr...last yr I think he dropped one...you probably love that loser Jeremy Shockey, and he drops passes far more often than Witten ever has

he didnt run the wrong route either

Oh boy, at this rate we just ought to disband the franchise, considering we suck in every facet possible.

Sigh.....
