sneak preview:
"Darnit all, call me a homer, but I still like and believe in this team. It's a marathon, not a sprint ... yada yada yada."
Then why do you read it? I mean if you hate the opinion so much, and you're sure you won't like it, why bother with it?
Doesn't make a lot of sense to read a post from someone, or about something, you're not going to like.

Why are you so angry? I don't get it.

Sacks mean little to DeMarcus Ware
By Todd Archer
PHILADELPHIA -- DeMarcus Ware had a career-high four sacks Sunday at Philadelphia, but in a 34-7 disaster the outside linebacker was hardly happy.
“It really doesn’t matter,” Ware said. “We were able to get some pressure on [Michael Vick] but we’ve got to go back this week, watch the film, correct the things we need to correct and get better. We can’t harp on how things went this week. You’ve got to get better and it’s just one game.”

I applaud Ware here. This is EXACTLY how he should think and approach it.
Why? Because he actually a PLAYER on the team.
Fans are not restrained to only caring about the W/L or any of that. Why? Because they're fans and they have zero bearing on any of it.
If a team wins the Superbowl all the fans get out of it is the enjoyment of seeing their favorite team win. You don't get a ring. You don't get mentioned on the list of people who did something to win it.
So why in the world do people get so worked up at one another over W's and L's and what people take, or don't take, from games?
You like to fester and be miserable after a loss? Cool. No problem at all man. That's how you handle the situation and go about it and I have no issue with that.
Why can't the same be extended to people who aren't going to live and die by W's and L's in games they have absolutely zero hand in the outcome of?
I don't like it when Dallas loses at all. I scream and cuss at the TV during the game as much as anyone. When the game is over though it's over. I don't carry that anger into the remainder of the day and take it out on family or friends. I don't fester for days on end about the outcome of a freaking football game that I wasn't playing in.
Just doesn't make sense to me. But that's just me and I understand that's not the way it is for everyone.

Why do people go to such absurd examples to try and make their point? You're comparing a funeral to the loss in a game? These aren't even remotely the same.
If you don't want to read about the career stats of a guy, after a loss, its really simple to avoid that problem. You don't go into the thread.

And being this angry and upset over a loss by a professional sports team means you too have your very own set of problems.
Or maybe I do for not allowing my entire mood, and what goes on around me, to be affected by the outcome of a game in which I have no hand in.
bbgun;4218025 said:You just answered your own question. If it was trivial and had no bearing on the game, why post it?
Why does it have to have a bearing on the game to post it? Further more if it had no bearing on what you want to be focused on after the game then why click on the thread and read it? There is no rule that says people have to read a topic just because it's up.
There are quite a few topics I avoid on these forums simply because I know by the title that they're not going to interest me. That saves me a few headaches and arguments over things that bug me.
bbgun;4218034 said:It's called common sense. Would you hit on a widow at a funeral? Of course not. Why? Not the time or place.
Again with the over the top, not even in the same ball park, really stupid examples. You're relating someone posting a topic, that you don't have to read mind you, about stats after a loss by a pro sports team to some idiot hitting on a widow at a funeral? How do you even, as a joke, put the two situations on equal footing?
Football is not a matter of life and death or at least it shouldn't be. It's crazy to me that anyone gets that high or low over pro sports outcomes.
