Driving home from work this evening I was listening to Movin' the Chains with Pat Kirwin and Tim Ryan on Sirius.....A Giants fan called in to the show to talk about the NFC East....the caller thought Witten was best TE in the league. Kirwin disagreed. Said that teams that play the 'Boys design the defensive schemes to allow Witten to get open. Witten alone will not kill a defense. Defenses can double up on receivers going vertical and then converge to tackle Witten underneath.

At first I disagreed until I saw this years stats.
94 receptions 1030 yards 2 TD's

I think there's a scheme flaw in Red's offense if this is the case. Any opinions?:
TEs don't get 30 yard TD passes. their passes come inside the redzone. Witten just didn't get many looks inside the redzone, and williams had a few of them as well. billicheck said a couple of years back. you want to stop dallas, you have to take witten out. who are you going to believe? Kirwan? or Billicheck?

this is why we move the ball with the best of them from the 30 to the 30. The amount of yards we rack up as a TEAM do not show up in the points we score....AND the amount of yards Witten racks up as a PLAYER do not reflect the amount of points he scores. Which is WHY Bennet needs to become more of a factor....because he is more explosive. Garrett takes what the defense gives him, which is easy from the 30 to the 30....but he HAS to become more creative when the field gets shorter to score the amount of points this offense SHOULD be scoring. Look no further than the Saints. There WRs, TEs, and RBs are not BETTER than ours. Brees might be slightly better than Romo...but the biggest disaparity in the Saints and Cowboys is Sean Payton versus Jason Garrett.
