Depending on his contribution, I'd let him finish out his contract as is. Also has a lot to do with the development of Escobar and Hanna.

We can probably afford him until 2016 or 2017. Interesting that we haven't restructured him, as of now it will be difficult to warrant paying him his current salary in 2017.

Depends on what the savings would be if he was released.

My serious answer to this question is that nothing has to be done with Witten's deal. Unlike Ware, he's shown no signs of decline and no signs of breaking down physically.

Witten just had 110 catches a year ago, I think having 3 different OCs this year played a part in not having a repeat performance

Right now, nothing. After next year, roughly 3.25 million. Those are based on a straight cut, not a June 1 designation. I think he'll be gone after next year.

I'll be fine if the only helmet he ever wears has a blue star on it!

What does that have to do with Witten who is still incredibly productive and isn't overpaid?

As I said earlier, he's fine for now, that isn't to suggest two years from now that his contract will be optimal, but it appears many care less about that and more about seeing their favorite players retire as cowboys. I'd much rather see this team win championships.
