Witten hinting at retiring

He's a Cowboy legend and I thank him for a valiant career, but at this stage in his career, we can get more out of the position.

Leveraging to get traded along with Romo. Could use retirement as a threat.

Guy knows who buttered his bread. Nothing but respect from me.

His cap hit is 12 million looking at it now.. Should be interesting. Can't keep him at that number

Even if they won I couldn't see this defense holding up vs. Ryan and Brady.

Yeah the Packers didn't have anyone healthy there at the end, and we still got shredded.

I was consistent for 16 weeks saying our defense couldn't win a playoff game against an elite QB. And then once the playoffs came around I talked myself into it that we could due to the defense coming on as of late, only to be fooled in the end. Shame on me.

Well they played badly on defense... but I'm still surprised how poorly the offense played the first 3 drives of the game.

I'd be okay with it, I'm ready for more speed and athleticism at the TE spot.

That doesn't mean anything. Gathers and Escobar are athletic, but they are garbage NFL TEs. Witten is a hall of famer who was still a vital part of this offense.

This really upsets me... We all knew a rookie QB hosting a Lombardi was a tall task... But u just know Dak will have us in contention for years to come... Would like to see Witten stay a few more years in a reserved role

But we didn't even compete to get there. Lost the first game.

There are no parallels between our team and any other team including the 90s Cowboys.

We had our chance today and we blew it. All of this other stuff are just things we say to make us feel good but in reality they aren't real. What was real was the opportunity today and now it's gone.

Could not agree with that more, the NFL has changed, it is not the same as it was 5 years ago, 10 years ago, or 30 years ago.

The only way to guarantee long term success is to play in a division as dysfunctional as the AFC East.

CORRECT. The number of clowns in here willing to just say "see ya" to this guy is beyond the pale. He was Dak's security blanket this season. I think he has one more year in him. Next year will be his last in big D IMHO
