Witten's career receptions are now 483, which puts him in fourth place in Cowboys history behind only Irvin (750), Drew Pearson (489), and Emmitt (486).

Here are some franchise stats from a while back (I really need to update this with the spreadsheet I keep up with):

http://cowboyszone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=108694

Witten is also now in 5th place for yardage in franchise history.

Hos, did you count yesterday's totals?
My apologies gentlemen. I did a search and found the thread from before last week and added yesterday. The correct numbers now appear. Next time I will look at the date of the post.

Seeing Emmitt on that list sure makes me want to see them throw it to MBIII or Felix some.

That just shocks me. He might actually end up as our all time receiver. I actually hope he does. Class act who would ensure his place in the Hall of Fame.

Oh wait, I forget he plays for us.

Wow, that's impressive. Here's hoping for a long career from Mr. Witten.

Thanks for posting that.

Speakin of Witten stats, he's been a bum fantasy football wise.

It seems like he doesn't run any seam routes anymore. Just curls and outs.

Yeah that was our bread and butter in 07. I guess teams are taking it away, or Miles/Roy have not shown that they need to be focused on downfield so safeties are still focusing on Witten down the seam?

I dont know but I hope that play comes back.

With just four more receptions, Witten will move into third place all-time in career catches for a player in his age-27 season (the season of the year he turned 27). The only players with more will be Randy Moss and Larry Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald is only 26 now, so he'll probably surpass Moss by next season. Right now, it's Moss at 574, Fitzgerald at 497 and counting, Andre Johnson at 486 and Witten at 483 and counting. Before Moss, the most any player had was Andre Rison's 475.

Witten is currently 5th all-time in receptions by a TE:

1. Gonzalez, T. - 999 rec, 11807 yds, 11.82 avg, 82 TDs
2. Sharpe, S. - 815 rec, 10060 yds, 12.34 avg, 62 TDs
3. Newsome, O. - 662 rec, 7980 yds, 12.05 avg, 47 TDs
4. Winslow, K. - 541 rec, 6741 yds, 12.46 avg, 45 TDs
5. Witten, J. - 523 rec, 5126 yds, 11.41 avg, 27 TDs

Other active TEs:
10. Gates, A. - 479 rec, 6223 yds, 12.99 avg, 59 TDs
11. Shockey, J. - 469 rec, 5280 yds, 11.26 avg, 30 TDs
16. Heap, T. - 427 rec, 4893 yds, 11.46 avg, 36 TDs
28. Crumpler, A. - 367 rec, 4691 yds, 12.78 avg, 37 TDs
35. Clark, D. - 356 rec, 4188 yds, 11.76 avg, 41 TDs
39. Cooley, C. - 343 rec, 3789 yds, 11/05 avg, 30 TDs

Witten will move past Winslow Sr. early next year but probably won't pass Newsome until sometime in the 2011 season.

I would really like to see him get more TDs.
