What is going on with Witten? I noticed that on a few throws his way he did not really make an effort to catch the ball, especially that throw to the endzone. Had he not pulled up...touchdown....

Does he have big contractitus?

his game has gone way down. If it is because of the new baby at home, then he needs to take charge of his program, and fix it.

We don't have time for his baby to start sleeping all night... Sleep in a nother room, and make the wife wake up.

You can blame the QB on that one. With no pressure at all, Blesoe threw yet another strike.

I'm not going to turnthis into a Bledsoe bash (enough of that last week), but that pass was clearly on Bledsoe.

BTW, he played a good game yesterday. He wasn't spectacular, stats wise, but barring a shaky start he played VERY efficiently. I did my share in bashing the guy last week. I have no qualms with giving him his credit when due.

Nice job Drew.

Easy answer guys.

It is just too many difference makers and too few balls to go around. In 2004, with injuries, he is pretty much the only difference maker so he catches 87 balls. In 2006, you have Owens, Glenn, and Crayton. You throw a healthy running game in there and you have your answer. Owens' numbers before the game were down career-wise too.

witten's touches are down because we have better playmakers out there. the reason gonzales is the man in k.c. is because they have no wr's. who would you rather have the ball in their hands, t.o. and glenn, or witten?he will get 35 or so cathces this year and be a nice option to check down to but we just have to many big playmakers to throw many to him

actually witten is on pace for around 53 catches this year and over 550 yards. and around 5 touchdowns.

So 13 less catches and 120 less yards than last year.

OH MY GOD HE IS WORTHLESS!!!!

you people are stupid.

WHAT??? That was catchable. The announcers thought it was tipped and that is why he pulled up. Replay showed it was very catchable... He did not give all his effort.

How can Witten be on pace for 5 TD's when he hasn't scored any TD's so far this year? He may finish the season with 5 TD's, but right now he is on pace for 0 TD's.

Before you go call people worthless and spew your crap read the post. I said "where has his productivity gone." He is nothing of his former self. Actually your worthless because of the garbage you contribute to this site.

Great math "on pace for 5 TD's? Where did you get that? He hasn't even scored so there is no statistical basis for your 5 TD's comment.

I am specifically talking about the pass to the endzone prior to TO's score where he pulled up short. I am also talking about a scree to him where he stopped running in the flat.

I understand new weapons however with TO in the game Witten should see more short stuff.

I agree with those saying Witten didn't sell out for it. He should have dove for the ball and and given an all-out effort to catch it.

Say what you want, but Witten has a soft streak in him. He's not the same player that as a rookie came back from a broken jaw the next week.

If you have TIVO go watch it again! The announcers thought it was tipped because it was so far off target. As a matter of fact, after they determined it WASN'T tipped (while watching the replay) the announcer said something to the effect of "It wasn't tipped, Bledsoe just missed that one".

Actually I have watched it several times, and he did not go all out like TG would have for it. You see TG dive for catches. Witten is not running routes hard, he is not going all out and it is obvious. He is still a great plyer, however I do not see the whitten I am used to.

Players don't dive for the ball when they know they have no chance to catch it. Glenn didn't dive for the first deep ball Bledsoe overthrew.

Are you guys kidding me about Witten???

He has stayed in to block far more this year then last year...it's hard to catch balls when you have to stay in for MAX-PROTECT...my he!!.

Both Fasano and Witten are being SEVERELY under utilized because they have to stay in and block.

Until Witten can go out and run patterns I'd hold off on how his production has gone down...yeah...of course it will :bang2:

No offense, but either you are watching a different play than everyone else, or you are trying to see something negative from Witten. The ball was a good 5-7 YARDS away from him on that play. It was a horrible throw by Bledsoe. Witten was all alone, and Bledsoe had plenty of time on the play, but he made a bad throw, plain and simple. Drew made some other good throws, but he missed Witten badly on that play. He also missed him badly on another 2nd half throw where Witten was wide open. Drew threw it over his head by about 5 feet and it was over the wrong shoulder.

It seems to me they just aren't in sinc, but it'll happen.
