Police found a woman's decapitated body in a Mexican border city on Saturday, alongside a handwritten sign saying she was killed in retaliation for her postings on a social networking site.

The gruesome killing may be the third so far this month in which people in Nuevo Laredo were killed by a drug cartel for what they said on the internet.

(1) Maybe some learned IT guys can answer this; how would a third party gang apparatus find out a poster's identity/location? I can see an admin/site owner doing so but hard to see how this happened unless said gang infiltrated her ISP either thru extortion or proffered monies.

(2) Is this why there is no political zone?;)

The Zetas have big connections to find out who she was. They bring crazy shock violence, because it effects people a lot.

The world would be a better place without the vast majority of Mexico. Just an awful society down there. It's very easy to understand why so many people are desperate to get across the border and escape that hellhole.

I have two words for them. Go home.

Mainland Mexico is pretty bad, and I agree with your statements.

It's bad... my mother-in-law has had two cousins kidnapped down there...

Dad makes fairly frequent trips to a town inside the border about two hours from Monterrey, at least that's where I think it is. The border violence is so damn bad that they aren't allowed by company policy to cross into Mexico by vehicle, even in their armed convoys. They fly in by helicopter, land at the subsidiary, and fly out. They are not allowed to leave the premises at any time.

The violence is starting to cross over into Texas too. Members of the old Mexican Mafia who don't join up with the Zetas in Corpus end up as "drowning" victims in the Gulf. They're colonizing San Antonio as well.

Half of Mexico is conservatively estimated to be controlled by gangs. Mexican "govt" is losing that war.

The US Government needs to get a handle on this. It's getting bad and will only get worse.

I think eventually we are going to have to use our military on the cartels...

Yeah, and come here, create Bazaars, cater only to Hispanic people by putting everything in Spanish. What I don't get is, if Mexico sucks so bad, why are they trying to turn Texas into another Mexico? ...or the entire southwest for that matter. /smh

I think those who are only escaping violence, rampant corruption and a drought of freedom and opportunity, are not also seeking to escape their culture--their identity. That's understandable, if not desirable and ultimately inconsistent with the whole melting pot ideal.

Just like growing up in the South Bronx or East LA and getting out before you get killed. They aren't giving up who they are, just the environment they came from.

It just so happens that they come to America, because that's the safest place.

I guess what irks me is what I see here in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. There are sections of town that only cater to HISPANIC people. From a business owner POV, why would you want to target a small segment of the population? I see many Mexicans that have come over here, but absolutely REFUSE to assimilate. I am all for keeping your culture, but if you move to another country, you must adapt and acclimate to THAT culture as well.

Depending on the neighborhood, they may not be a small segment of the population. I'd imagine businesses do it to make money and if there were no money in catering to that market, they wouldn't do it.

I know plenty of Mexicans (including a few Mexican nationals) who want no part of Mexico and only want a new life here. You'd be surprised how many have no allegience to Mexico.

I do not like the people who push Mexican society on America, but not all Mexicans want that.

And people wonder why Arizona wants a fence, stricter laws, and tighter security.

Good fences make good neighbors. Really big barbed wire electrified fences with agents and drones make even better neighbors.

But hey, if we keep selling the cartels the guns to kill people with, what do we expect to happen?

I'm with you. The people arguing against don't have a damn clue.
