And the offense kept the team close and competitive in those early losses whereas the team has been blown out in several games since then.
Yep. If the defense just would've got one turnover or hell if the special teams would've helped with field position even those games could've been W's...

And some are even saying he didn't sign before the season because he wanted $40 million, and at that time $35-37 million wasn't even in play. Had they been able to agree on tehe number of years it likely would have been $33-35 million.
All the salary numbers

So draft him and if he’s Ryan leaf we are at square one. Good call
Without risk there is no reward! Lets play it safe and sign Dak to 35 mil a year and continue on with 6-10 to 9-7 records. Maybe if they have an easy schedule he can go 11-5. Somewhere along the way he can muster up 1 playoff win in the next 4 years.
So what if they draft a QB and he fails, its not like they have been going anywhere with Prescott!

“This guy is, I'm not going to say that he's a top-five quarterback, but he's the franchise quarterback of the organization, and he's the future of this organization," Woodson said on the "The Jake Asman Show" on SportsMap Radio. "So why not, instead of taking care of all the other players that you've paid, pay the most important player on your football team and make him happy."

Another former player. Guess all these guys are wrong and the guys on here who sell skittles for a living know more about football.

Oh look, Dak sent another one of his blind followers to do his bidding by saying that if you do not want to pay Dak then you are wrong.

You people are pathetic if you think dedicating $35M+ to a QB who was 8-8 last year and was possibly heading for 2-3 before he was injured this season is somehow the answer to fixing this team.

Lol. Yeah. Dak has one losing season to his record in 5 but sure. He’s also won a playoff game in his first 5 years. If this team could stop another team from scoring it would be nice wouldn’t it?

Gawdalmighty, why are people so frickin' stupid? We tried to pay Dak. He wouldn't take it. I love Darren as a player, but this is moronic.

If you draft college players based on stats you'll get into trouble quick.

You draft them on talent/upside.

Lawrence is about as talented as it gets and his upside is as high as anyone that's every played in this league.
Yeah, production is a tiny factor that's like 123rd on the list when evaluating prospects.

He was average at 8-8 last season, barely above average at 9-7 in 2017, and was 1-3 heading into Giants game while winning just 1 lousy playoff game in his 4-1/3 years as the starter.........and somehow that is impressive by saying he has just 1 losing season? Okay then.

PS

In his 3 seasons as the Bears starting QB, Mitchell Trubisky only has 1 losing season. Also, in his 3 seasons as the Vikings starting QB Kirk Cousins has no losing seasons.

So based on that logic Dak is somewhere between Trubisky and Cousins in terms of quality starting QB's and should be paid as such.

The funny thing is when the defense shows up where is Dak. Last year look at the Jets, Saints and Eagles game. Other games Dak can go 2 or 3 quarters of football with 100 yds passing and no TDs and they are down 28 -3 and the 4th quarter Dak has 200 yds passing and 2 tds and everything looks fine in your eyes. Yes the defense has its problems and it would be nice to get that fixed but dont let that mislead you into thinking Dak doesnt have his problems.

Good Points! I actually think Cousins is a better pure passer than Dak. But Cousins has a zero chance of winning a SB just like Trubisky and Dak.

Lol. Dak isn’t perfect I never said that. But there’s been a lot more times that defence didn’t show up when he did. Dak putting up the points he does when the other team is getting 300 yards rushing is actually what’s most impressive.
