Unless it's mayo. I hate mayo.

Can't stand it.

You and Rynie hate mayo with the same passion I do. I've had many a sandwich and burger remade because there was a hint of mayo on it. :puke:

Thanks for all the input everyone :laugh2:. It was actually an awesome first day. Very easy and yes lots of downtime post lunch rush. Working in an italian deli for 7 years and also attending 2 years of culinary school has prepared me well for this.

I'm glad it went well!

I'm glad you can handle the jerks too. Sometimes when I'm in line at Subway, the person in front of me is so rude! I don't understand why.

I don't like cheese and its a pain at all the burger joints as they constantly push cheese on you. I know they have to since the corporations made big deals to get cheese cheap if they keep pushing it but it is still annoying.

A lot of people are not old enough to remember before the early 80's cheese burgers were the exception not the rule. Then the American Cheese Institute went to work on MCDonalds and all the rest and by 1990 cheese was everywhere and still is. Probably the most sucessful promotion ever; and one of the reasons America is so fat now.

Now I have proof you hate America because you don't like AMERICAN cheese on your burgers.

A piece of cheese on a hamburger is one of the reasons why Americans are fat now? Interesting.

Well yeah there is that.

Even though the cheese-less version is a little better for the old ticker.

If you are getting a real burger...and not some turkey burger, soy flavored burger or a burger where they drain ALL of the grease a flavoring from it...I don't think a piece of cheese is going to do much more damage.

My gut ( a rather large one) says...Quit hating America. :laugh2:

Heyyy, back up off my turkey burger. Now that people know how to cook them, those things are de-lish-ious. Plus, there are two different kind of meat used for turkey burgers. The white meat turkey burgers for the "lean" eating people. Tho, it doesn't help once you put the cheese, mayo, mustard, or whatever other dressing on it. lol

However, there are some places that are making ground turkey burgers now that can rival any regular burger now if the meat quality is decent and they cook it properly.

Just saying, I like my turkey burgers.

I don't mind if people like turkey burgers and the like.

I just know it did not fly to well in my house when the wife tried to use turkey burger in something and pass it off as hamburger.

It was one of the few times I had to take the pants off my wife, put them back on me and then put my foot down.

For those that don't get that joke...this might help, the wife just LOOOOVES this song...

Well, that I can understand. It works on kids, notsomuch on adults.

Everyone knows I don't eat beef/pork, so if I'm cooking something that traditionally uses beef (ie spaghetti, lasagna) or something, then they know right off the bat what's going in it. They can choose to eat it, or they can go buy their own food.

If I'm throwing a party or something, then I do provide beef/pork stuff. My last BBQ, I had beef burgers and turkey burgers, turkey italian sausage links and pork sausage links, pork hot dogs (for the kiddos), and because one of my friends is a vegan, I had an extensive fruit/veggie tray, along w/some hummus.

I have not had a fast-food cheeseburger, or hamburger for that matter since my bypass surgery in Nov 2004.

My heart was fine, but arteries were massively blocked. (2@100%, 1@90%, 1@80%, 1@70% and 1@60%) They told me eventually I was either going to have a heart attack, a stroke, or just kill over.

I used the analogy that the washing machine was in good working order, but the hoses were clogged up. I got some new hoses and we're doing laundry again !! :D

My wife makes burgers at home a certain way, with lean meat, drains them, .. whatever she does. I eat them sometimes but not the fast-food stuff.

Hope you never find out about the heart Yeager. That surgery is nasty.

My grandma had triple bypass surgery a few years ago. She went in for something else (I forget what), and ended up having heart surgery. Scary stuff for the fam. Her scar is scary to look at, but I'm just glad to see it. Ya know.
