11 offsides on good scoring chances is Italy beating itself more than anything.

Costa Rica played with alot of heart and had one very good shot on goal before half. Offensively they were not very good in the match, nor was Italy.

Costa Rica kool aid is getting passed around pretty fast.

No Euro teams have impressed me so far in the Cup, with the exception of Netherlands and France. Maybe humidity comes into play, who knows.

Again this is soccer IQ stuff.

They had one way to score, very long passes up to Balotelli over and over again.
Some chances he did well but couldn't convert for goal and others he was offsides as he tried to time runs past 3 defenders.

The game on English TV gave plenty of credit to the Costa Rican ** for attacking. They didn't get past Italy's backline often but they dominated ** against arguably the best ** (player if not group)in the world.
Italy never had build up which is truly hard to fathom given their talent level.

Costa Rica's strategy was excellent and their tireless workrate won the day.

If you can't give an out-manned opponent credit for outplaying you not sure what else to say.

Balotelli is a popular scape goat but truth is they left that dude hung out to dry all day with zero help.
I can see why that guy hates everyone, lol.

You can't say Ghana isn't very good and at the same time list beating them as some great accomplishment. If they aren't good, then it should not be a big deal that they got beat. I think they are a good team. Not one of the favorites of this tournament, but a quality team. It was a good win for the U.S.. If they played against each other 10 times, I would say they would finish pretty evenly in wins, losses and ties.

Never claimed the Ghana win was a big thing; other than the obvious 3 points towards group stage totals.
I claimed concacaf as a whole has been outstanding.

Maybe without Altidore they'd split the series but with him there is no way.
The US is the superior team easily.
Dempsey played with a broken nose and the US lost two players to injury preventing any reasonable sub pattern.

Ghana is good. Very good.

Probably the 2nd best team in our group. The United States was destined to win that game.

I hope Germany beat Ghana today but it wouldn't surprise me if Kevin Prince plays more today and Ghana gets an upset.

Interesting game so far between Germany and Ghana. Ghana is packing that midfield and contesting everything and keeping everything compact. But you can see Germany starting to find them holes Ghna is leaving open because of the pressure in the midfield. Germany will score in the 2nd half

Ghana may be a force to reckon with in 2018. The youngest team in the tournament this year and their youth teams have done very well in world competitions. That was great half between the two teams.
