If you can't trade down and are committed to BPA, then you might have to take Cordarrelle Patterson. His upside is as high as any player in this draft, IMO.

And I might do that as well. Datone Jones intrigues me. Anyways, these are theatres of exercises the Cowboys are doing this week. Anything is possible come draft night.

We should have the insight on him with our new WR coach.

I would jump all over Werner. If you couldn't trade back, then perhaps Keenan Allen, who I do believe is the best WR in this draft. I like Taylor as a Safety much more then a CB and he may be drafted as a CB in the 1st round regardless.

Rumor going around on Twitter that Keenan Allen failed a drug test around combine time. Again just the rumor going around right now add that, if true, with his medical situation right now he might really drop a good deal.

I had not heard that but yeah, your right BP. Of course, we all know that rumors pop up all the time around this time of year for all sorts of reasons but yes, that would certainly drop him.

Just saw the rumors on twitter in the last hour. You can bet his agent is scrambling right now. :laugh2:

I saw that it was a rumor. Went back to the combine to recheck his ankle not because of a failed drug test.

The more I think about the draft the more likely Jessie Williams seems to me. I really do see this worst case scenario playing out for us.

You mean Sly Williams right? Jesse Williams is a borderline first rounder. And even Sly Williams is borderline top 20. And not a Garrett (or Kiffin) RKG to boot, due to his consistency and work ethic concerns. Sly is a Jimmy Johnson type of athlete but Butch did not coach him up (like most of his guys at NC).

No he was talking about Jesse Not Sly.

In the OP's scenario Sly Williams was already taken.

No I meant Jessie Williams. I think there are teams that are a lot higher on him than they are letting on. He isn't my first choice, but i don't think he is a bad one. Moving back with the Vikings and selecting him would be nice IMO.

In that scenario I take Tavon Austin unless a teams pays over chart value to move up and get him. TA is legit R1 player. After him... not so much.

It is against my real desire positionally but it is BPA by a country mile and he is very useful to any team. Miles probably isn't here forever at his cost anyways.

While we need to get better on the OL for sure, it would also help Tony if he had a guy take 5 yard passes for 50. Dez does some of this by breaking tackles but Tavon could do it by breaking ankles.

I know this is the dreaded go for the flashy object move but backed into a corner take value first and foremost.

Can't take him if someone already took him at pick 7 in the scenario.
