on this day of the Steelers defending their title, I'm reminded how I feel they are one of the worst, if not the worst SB champ of all time. Yes I freely admit Im a bitter Cowboy fan/Steeler hater but I think it is an objective opinion nontheless. Here are some other candidates:

80 Raiders
02 Buccaneers
70 Colts
68 Jets
87 Commanders
00 Ravens

for me its between 05 Steelers and 80 Raiders for the worst.

thoughts?

That 80 Raiders team was outstanding and could come back on anybody. That Mondy Night game vs. Pittsburgh where they came back twice on Bradshaw and company ended the Steel Curtain dynasty, pure and simple.

Who cares if they didn't have a marquee running back, they had guys who played well together and got it done. The core of that same team returned and won the Superbowl three years later.

They were far better than the ridiculous New England team that won one of the worst officiated Superbowls after the 2001 season after having already tuck-ruled themselves into the AFC Championship game.

The Steelers might be the worst, however, had Seattle won, I'd probably say the same about them.

The only player I felt played very well in the game was Matt Hasselback, and his receivers decided to leave their hands in the washing machine...or something.

2005 Steelers.. ive said it before and ill say it again.. they were the last freaking wild card to make the playoffs.. they won their first game because the opposing team's best player, their QB, got hurt on the first play.. which just happened to be a long touchdown pass.. and the Super Bowl? please.. I have never been one to blame a loss on the officials, not even that 1994 NFC Championship game and the infamous Deion pass interference.. but that Steeler win last year was a gift from the refs.. it was beyond ridiculous.. people talk about the pushoff on the TD, the Big Ben TD, and the Hasselbeck block, and all those were crap calls.. but the the one that really doomed Seattle was the phantom holding call that made a 1st and Goal from the Pitt one into a 3rd and forever from beyond field goal range.. Seattle would have taken the lead and the momentum, instead it went the other way..
If the media had spent the off-season discussing how to fix the poor officiating rather than guessing what was going on between Parcells and T.O., I would have some semblance of respect for them.

What really irritated me after the Superbowl, was the mediots who would say... "The Seahawks only have themselves to blame, If they had played better, they could have won easily, even with the bad calls."

That would be fine, if the Stealers had played well. But you had two teams playing poorly, but one had an overwhelming number of bad calls go their way.
