Worst Sports Day of Every Year

The worst sports day of the year for me is the day after the Superbowl. That's when I count up the six months before training camp starts, as I'm watching North Carolina A&T play Northeastern Oklahoma in college hoops on The Ocho.

I'm a big Gary Sinise fan, so I'm in the minority of CSI fans who actually enjoy him over Caruso. It wasn't until CSI:NY came out that I decided to watch any of the CSI series full-time.
Just some advice...you never pick anyone over Caruso...he will find you and you will be punished accordingly.

He had one of the best CSI intros recently...it went something like this...

Woman performing autopsy: Horatio, this murder was cold

Horatio (Caruso): It was cold...COLD AS ICE!!!! ~ puts sunglasses on ~

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!

As a Caruso fan, that is what you wait for...a tough guy line with a quick slip on of the sunglasses...just a lethal combination. It has actually been outlawed in 7 states due to Caruso-fear induced related heart attacks.

Here are some other classic Caruso quotes...

Horatio Caine: You know what they say "You lie down with the Devil, you wake up in Hell".

Horatio Caine: When you have everything, sometimes it feels like nothing.

Horatio Caine: Justice is not yours to dispense, and now you're going to pay for it.

Horatio Caine: Bag it, tag it and let's see what else is there!

Remember...all of these were uttered with either a shot of him putting on or taking off his sunglasses. The guy is just flat out lethal.

lol well we lucked out and got something to talk about on our boards today. RUMOR has it 10 people have been fired from the saints organization and one of the most visible saints beat reporters has been banned from camp. All rumor but quite the hot topic getting us through the slow day

Just give me something to get me through this day. 2 more weeks.

I always enjoy a good tummy rub at times like these.

To top it off Michael Young didn't get to play in the All-Star game last night.

I know what was that Crap, you would think with Ron Washington being on the coaching staff for the game he would try harder to get his guy in.

The AAA allstar game is on tonight thought

For me the worst sports day is always the day after the Cowboys' season ends. Football is the only sport I watch.

But, man, you got to get up and get the heart rate going...somehow.

;)
Just imagine QC as our starting quarterback.

Wait, maybe that wouldn't have the desired effect.

Vela has a write up on his blog about the same thing and suggests the following. If you like soccer and have the channel that will air the game tonight it should actually be a pretty good game.

I only posted a piece of the article, the rest talks about the possibility of having 'loan deals' in the NFL like they do in professional soccer leagues. this is were a team will lend a young player to a weaker team so they can develop. I personally don't see it happening for many reasons but it's an interesting read nevertheless. You can read the entire article at his website.

As I’ve pointed out in the past, I follow the other football too, which we natives call soccer.

While the Cowboys news remains slow, two weeks before the opening of camp, I’m following the transfer news from Europe, where the soccer season ramps up in just a week or two. (And if you’re looking for a match with meaning and excitement on this dead day in American sports, watch tonight’s semi final of the Copa America, between Argentina and Mexico. It beats hearing rehashes of the baseball All-Star game.)

Okay, okay, I'll concede that Horatio is the number one CSI guy. For now. :p: Still, Sinise has been one of my favorite actors ever since I first noticed him as Stu "East Texas" Redman in The Stand. His protrayal of an ex-Marine turned cop who's wife perished in the World Trade Center bombings on CSI:NY has been top notched in my book. The show doesn't have the same number of fans as CSI:Miami, but we're as loyal to Mac Taylor as fans are to Horatio Caine. ;)

No football. -- This pains me, but its no different than yesterday or tomorrow. And I've been listening to sports talk radio all day because they're broadcasting from a charity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, and I know Tony Romo is playing in it, so there's a very slight chance I might hear him interviewed on the radio. So this is actually a better sports day than most between the end of the Draft and the beginning of Training Camp.

No baseball. -- Who gives a rat's ***?

No basketball. -- Who gives a rat's ***?

No hockey. -- Who gives a rat's ***?

No golf. -- Who gives a rat's ***?

No tennis. -- Who gives a rat's ***?

No car races. -- Who gives a rat's ***?

Basically all you have is the Tour De France and I'll be honest, without Lance involved it isn't nearly as interesting to me. -- Oooh, that's right. I gotta turn on Versus in 19 minutes! Thanks, Hos!
