Would anyone be opposed to bring Norv back?

After seeing how much he helped Alex Smith I wouldn't mind to see him as OC but not HC.

Did he really help Alex ?

I am not convinced.

I've been for him (Norv) as the OC here for years, not a head coach tho.

Actually I would like a young coach dou, I have been thinking Jason Garret and one of the Ryan kids as a DC, or maybe Rivera - DC at Chicago as HC and Garret as OC.

He was a rookie thrown onto a bad team, with a bad defense, in a bad division, with zero developed offensive weapons (at the time).

How good could he really be ? He was set up to fail as a rookie. This year it was under different circumstances on both sides of the ball.

I know what you are saying and I can't argue that

Norv is a brilliant OC top 3 would LOVE to have him as such, HC I'm not sure.
Everyone forgets Tom Flores, he's the most succesfull under Davis, even better than Madden iirc.

Well they almost doubled their wins.
The lost their star rookie TE for a while.

He clearly helped Alex.

Thats a good point, I don't have the stats here in front of me but it would be interesting to see who had a better record in Washington thier 1st 3 years, Norv or Gibbs (2nd term).

at some point u have to stop thinking about the coaches, and start looking to blame snyders ways twards FA. they're turning into the yankees, taking old outcast talent, and overpaying them

As head coach? I think the impact that he had on Aikman and what he's doing with Alex Smith would work with Romo. Unfortunately, he has a rep of being too much a nice guy. Only in sports is that a bad thing.

ROmo doesn't need help as a passer, just holding onto the football

lol, I think he could use some help. Dude looked an awful lot like Bledsoe out there after his stellar start.

I know, but that can be coached through experience, he doesn't need another coach, he'll just be hearing the same things again

Norv is too one dimensional. He can't adapt his system to the talent on the team. You either work in Norv's system or you don't. That's why he has had mixed results over the years depending on if players can fit in his timing-based offense. Plus, I don't consider Norv's system to be an easy one to master. It takes a couple of years before you can successfully implement it.
