Would Bowman be a progress stopper?

oakland signed Derrick Johnson so no way Bowman is going back there and a SF reunion seems unlikely (although Fosters legal issues could change that). And we are still lacking for depth at LB. but would you still want him (assuming the price is right) now that we have LVE in the fold?

Yes...but I wouldn’t mind another vet LB signed still. Someone a little more versatile than Bowman, and someone that will be ok with being a backup. If Lee misses significant time I’m not sure how comfortable I’d feel with rookie LVE and Jaylon as our starting LB’s.

Nope. He would only help the young guys progress. He would be a welcome addition to the defense and make the team better going forward.

I don't get the lack of depth comment.

We drafted two players and brought in a third as a FA. Assuming we carry six LBs, I'd say we have them (Lee, LVE, Smith, Wilson, Thomas, Covington).

Now, Bowman is probably better right now than several of those linebackers, but most of them are young and will contribute on special teams.

Bowman? YES PLEASE. He's a nice stop gap until the young bucks get up to snuff.

'Forged in fire' is more than a nursery rhyme...the motto of the 3rd ACR.

That and a special bonding occurs...
