Would Elliott to the Chiefs trade be a good idea for both teams?

So I was doing some research of my own and if I have all the numbers correct, to-date, Zeke has been paid a total of $17,015,658 for 3 years of work in Dallas. **However, that's less whatever he lost due to his suspension (but that's on him anyway).

He's owed $7,940,655 in 2019 and we already picked up his 5th yr option for 2020 at $9,099,000. A total of $17,039,655 for the next 2 yrs, guaranteed.
If we tag him in 2021, it will be (currently) at $11,353,000 and $13,622,400 if we do it again in 2022. For those next 4 yrs, the total would be $42,014,055, guaranteed.
The guaranteed grand total for his first 7 years as Dallas Cowboy would be $59,029,713. An ave. of $8,432,816/yr.
And he wants a raise!

If we are some how able to sign Dak, Cooper and Zeke all basically at the same time, than I say do it. Here's your offer Zeke:
First we tear up the current contracts for 2019 and 2020.
Next we offer him to a new 5 year, $60 million contract. $52m guaranteed with a $35m signing bonus.
Break down:
Year Base Bonus Cap Hit
2019 $14m $7m $21m
2020 $14m $7m $21m
2021 $13m $7m $20m
2022 $11m $7m $18m
2023 $8m $7m $15m

I kind of see this as a win/win. He gets the $60m number he's pining for. He's guaranteed $ will be paid off in the first 4 years of the deal, same as tagging him and basically for only another $10m more than we would have paid him anyway. We get him for 5yrs instead of 4. He will be a Dallas Cowboy for the first 8 years of his NFL career, getting paid a grand total of $ 77,015,658 which is an ave. of $9,626,957/yr.

What ya'll think?

I'm not in the mood to read through 17 pages but I'm going to assume that this has been said already. So, if it has, I 100% agree and owe said poster a like. Damian Williams isn't some 'scrub' in the Chief's offense. He averaged ~ 5 yards/carry in '18 when Hunt got the boot. In addition, the Chiefs do NOT need a workhorse RB for that offense to tick. Similar to New England's offense, where a RB can be plugged in and thrive, due to the focus of the D being on the QB and his numerous weapons. Just my opinion but Zeke would be a waste on that team. Zeke is a workhorse and needs 20+ touches/game to get into the flow of the game. He wouldn't get that on a consistent basis in Kansas City. The RB in this offense is the focal point and is what Dallas has built their O around. Big money on the oline and a premiere workhorse RB. Kansas City is the complete opposite. They're built on speed and giving Maholmes as many options as possible. In a perfect world for KC, and if they had their choice of any RB in the league, it would be Kamara and definitely not Zeke.

Williams and Zeke are the same exact size. The guy is a 3 down back and will be a workhorse. Elliott's an inch taller. This crackpot trade scenario would never happen since they have a guy very capable of carrying the load right now.

Just a minor correction, his cap hit is 7.9mil but his paycheck would be 3.85mil this year. He got 16.8mil in real cash in 2016, 1m in 17 and 2.7mil in 2018.

I don't think he takes that deal. On average, it's less than Gurley's AAV. IMO it would be a 4 year, 60mil contract, with probably 47.5mil guaranteed. I wouldn't go past 4 years anyways for a guy who will be a lot of touches.

In other words, we're both on the same page and both feel that this thread is a waste of this awesome forum's time & resources. :lmao:

How about Zeke for Juan Thornhill and next year's 2nd? That would complete our roster for WIN NOW.

Chiefs are in absolute Win Now mode with Mahomes in his rookie deal expected to break the bank in a couple years.

However, after they cut Hunt for his baggage, they haven't had anything resembling a starting running back. You have to believe they can't be serious about trotting out a little scatback like Damien Williams out there as the RB1. He can't run inside, he can't run on short yardage downs, he can't be a workhorse. They have bigger guys on the team but they don't have much athleticism. They don't have even an average NFL running back on the team. They desperately need to replace Hunt and that's the biggest question mark on whether the Chiefs can legitimate make and win the Super Bowl this year.

Elliott is one of the few RBs in the NFL that is objectively better than Hunt at everything. Inside running, outside running, screen catching, receiving, pass protection, etc. He would make them the clear favorite to win the SB, no question whatsoever.

Cowboys could be in position to demand a 1st AND a 2nd round pick in 2020 for him. Remember, Chiefs are all in on a Super Bowl... NOW. Cowboys can win without Zeke, but the Chiefs are sorely missing that piece.

Should we make this happen??
Hell to the No!!!

Mike Lynn is dead so there maybe no one to trade 3 no.1 and 3 no.2 draft picks for Elliott. So forget it.

As for as can the Cowboys win without Zeke, the question is will they win without Elliott (see Troy Aikman answer that loaded question about Emmitt Smith).
