Would Elliott to the Chiefs trade be a good idea for both teams?

Chiefs are in absolute Win Now mode with Mahomes in his rookie deal expected to break the bank in a couple years.

However, after they cut Hunt for his baggage, they haven't had anything resembling a starting running back. You have to believe they can't be serious about trotting out a little scatback like Damien Williams out there as the RB1. He can't run inside, he can't run on short yardage downs, he can't be a workhorse. They have bigger guys on the team but they don't have much athleticism. They don't have even an average NFL running back on the team. They desperately need to replace Hunt and that's the biggest question mark on whether the Chiefs can legitimate make and win the Super Bowl this year.

Elliott is one of the few RBs in the NFL that is objectively better than Hunt at everything. Inside running, outside running, screen catching, receiving, pass protection, etc. He would make them the clear favorite to win the SB, no question whatsoever.

Cowboys could be in position to demand a 1st AND a 2nd round pick in 2020 for him. Remember, Chiefs are all in on a Super Bowl... NOW. Cowboys can win without Zeke, but the Chiefs are sorely missing that piece.

Should we make this happen??

I like the idea of Trading Zeke if we don’t want to resign him. If anything trade him to team like the Raiders who will be picking in the Top 10. I dont want the Chiefs 30, 60th picks. Gruden is a clown and he wants to collect me first guys. The smart thing to do this offseason was sign Tevin coleman for practically peanuts then you would not had your feet to the fire with Zeke. But it all comes back to having a plan and to play chess while other teams are playing checkers. See Eagles, Patriots, Seahawks, etc

Wishful thinking. Even if we played hardball, Zeke would make 13 million this year and the next. Then average of top 5 rb's after being tagged and a huge raise after 2ng tag. He'd make close to 40 million in 4 years. Tags are fully guaranteed. Win/ win.

No less than two 1st & two 2nds. Zeke is elite. So only elite returns.

Would never happen for a RB

This isn’t the same NFL...no more Walker-type trades for RBs. Some teams won’t even spend a first on a RB in a draft...they certainly aren’t going to spend multiple firsts and seconds after a RB has significant tread on the tires

Who or what else could we throw in to get Mahomes?

Apparently to some of our fans he potentially has much more value to other teams than us ?

I seriously believe Jerry will find a way to sign him. And before he signs Dak or Coop.

They’ve already paid him 16.8 million. They owe another 13. For the sake of the team, can’t he honor his contract and suffer through the 30 million? Poor baby! And don’t give me that tired, STUPID market value crap.
It’s just greed and ego driving this.

Be firm! Tell Zeke you’ll take care of him, his turn is coming, but the team has to come first because of cap restrictions.

Yep

The key to signing Elliott is not over paying Prescott and waiting until next year for Cooper who we could eventually Tag.
