Would hire Deion as the Cowboys' next HC?

If Jerry was that stupid, I’d become a Texans fan. Not even joking or being hyperbolic.

My goodness, you could probably multiply the Cowboys' media attention x 10, min. but you'll actually be getting a coach very similar to Jimmy. Not so much an XO guy but demands respect and accountability from players AND coaches.

Now Is the Prime Time to Pay Attention to Deion Sanders’s Leadership Style

Some business leaders see the swaggering Colorado football coach as a model because of his ability to make confidence contagious

Everyone from The Rock to “60 Minutes” swooned over Deion Sanders after he led one of college football’s worst teams to a 3-0 record early this season. To business gurus, though, this is the moment that Coach Prime and his swagger really get interesting.

Now that his Colorado Buffaloes have lost two of their last three games, the true test of Sanders’s hyper-confident leadership style is whether it can withstand defeat, they say.
“Confidence is absolutely key because people need to believe that you know which levers to pull, whether you really know or not,” says Carter Pate, who specialized in corporate restructuring at PricewaterhouseCoopers before a three-year stint as chief executive of MV Transportation. “What always hangs in the back is: Be careful how much you hype if you can’t back it up.”
The circus of sending celebrities through the locker rooms and team meetings would be an epic detriment to focusing on football. It certainly has been a distraction for the college program. Why bring that to Dallas?

Deion is not ready to coach in the NFL. As a CO alum who follows the team fairly closely, he has done a great job of jumpstarting the school but his game day management is riddled with some puzzling decisions.

I don't think he is leaving CU until at least 2025 anyway, he and his sons will be back in 2024 with some upgrades via the portal and recruiting.

He is not a very good college football coach. No NFL is going to hire him as any kind of coach. Colorado plays undisciplined and is penalized a lot. That is directly related to coaching. His team stinks. He is overmatched. He should have stayed at Jackson State.

Nope, we got enough drama already.
We need an old fashioned butt kicker for a HC.

Don’t know that the Cowboys will ever have a good HC. There is a dire need for a young, imaginative, bright and energetic coach who can modernize the offense. But JJ wants to be the main man so he hires cronies and retreads for coaches.

I don't know yet. Deion is in his first year coaching D1 ball. Colorado was awful last year and has been for awhile. They're not great, but they are competitive, and will probably play in a bowl game this season. That's borderline coach of the year material.

His team is making rapid progress, as his team at Jackson St did. His players believe in him and it seems he's able to connect with them on a personal level that most cannot. That's the kind of trust that builds empires. Make no mistake, the potential is astronomical.

You don't make it to the Hall of fame without having an elite work ethic. We wouldn't have to worry about whether the coach is putting in the work. Is he creative enough to consistently field competitive offenses and defenses while dealing with revolving doors at the coordinator jobs? His gold jacket suggests that he understands play concepts and packages, but the game has evolved since the 90's, and without Travis Hunter, that defense has looked pretty rough.

I guess the question is can he succeed without elite coordinators. Motivation, trust, and accountability, go a long way. Is he good enough with x's and o's to keep the ship stable through the inevitable turmoil? Let's see how the year plays out, but if he leads a successful campaign and we're looking for a coach, I'd be hard pressed to not make that call and talk about some things.

Prime needs to win a National Title or at the very least stay in the Title conversation for a period of time before the NFL came calling. But Deion has followed his son from high school to college, I don't put it past him coaching him in the pros as well.
Posts like these burn me up. Why do men of a certain profile have to win a title to even be considered for a hc job in the National Football League. Yet so many fans welcome burnt out retreads like Jeff Fisher and Dan Quinn who are .500 coaches. Not to mention others with no resume to back up their hires.

So many fans here had great things tobsay about the unfounded Jeff Saturday hire for head coach. Yet men like Deion "are not ready" or must win at the highest level first.

Not to mention the culture of nepotism in the N.F.L. which allows untalented people such as Steve Belicheck to be a coach with minimum to zero external coaching experience.

Also, if anyone has ever heard Deion talk football, he is one of the most intelligent, high I.Q. defensive personnel guys ever.

Without any changes at the top of the organization, cosmetic changes at the HC position, QB, coordinators, etc is just another fresh coat of paint on the Titanic.
Did you ever consider that one more coat of paint may have been enough protection from the iceberg, Bob?

Think before you post and start acting like a fan. That red font comes with responsibilities.

What if he wears a Fedora but to the side of his head to maintain cool points? Could be dope.

At this point Deion seems to be all talk. You can’t lose a game while ahead by 29 points against 1-4 team and be taken seriously.

First of all there is zero chance Jerry would hire him. ZERO. Because no head coach can have more of the spotlight than Jerry.

Secondly, I don’t think Prime would take this job. He is actually good motivating college kids. Don’t th8nk his skills as a HC would translate to the next level.

Third, the Cowboys don’t lack confidence. They lack real toughness. They are softer than a roll of Charmin.
he already said he has no interest in working in nfl. but people just ignore that lol

Why are you taking this thread so personal?
Is that the best you can do?

Closing in on 100 comments- 95% of them stating it's a bad idea at best...but hey...retort only me - but not others.
