Would Romo have trade value next year?

LOL and get the MVP and in his acceptance speech tell all about playing for Booger and what a tool he is.
lol as long as it wasn't against us, I'd be super happy for him if he won a SB on another team. He deserves it.

Never know. Who thought the Vikings would give up what they did for Bradford?
Desperation move with a championship caliber D and RB, can't fault them, those picks weren't going to take them to the SB and their window is open now. What are the teams, on the cusp and only missing that piece of the puzzle, that would pull the trigger on that trade? I cannot think of one that doesn't already have their QB. The others have other problems other than QB, like us, and need those draft picks and FA's to address that.

If he was healthy, I am sure the Vikes would have traded for Romo and the Texans would have before we re-signed him. But, what team is only missing the QB and desperate enough to make a lopsided trade?

We won't know until next year.

Romo will always be a Cowboy.

No use letting your mind wander about it unless you're into those what if scenarios i guess.

What's it going to be then, eh?

If we decided to go with Dak next year with one year remaining on Romo's contract could there be a team that might feel they are just a QB away?

What would he potentially bring us as in a draft pick or is his injury concern too grave an issue for another team to undertake?
I would say his mortgaged contract would scare anyone away before they even bothered to weigh the injury issues.

IMO it's an interesting thought. The potential cap space alone is the attraction in a Romo trade if we're certain we have our guy in Dak.

fair point. i like to think nietzsche said things or lived his ideas so that us regular humans wouldn't have to. as long as this thought stays as a thought project im okay with it! :)

Jerry and Romo are practically inseparable. It weas hard for Jerry to move on from Ware. Don't think he could do it with Romo like that.

I agree but is that what might be in the best interest for Cowboys football the next 3 years?

There could be others like an Arizona with an aging Palmer and his injury history. Just never know who might be desperate for a season .
Palmer is one more injury away from making them gun shy with QB's with that history but that would be the perfect fit. Hey, they could retire #9 and #22 in the same ceremony.

Arizona is a hot bed for Cowboy fans. Perfect fit.

This personal attachment for Cowboy players not wanting them to play or end their careers elsewhere is borderline homophobic. Lol

Btw coach. I see you went back to DC site. Booooo

It's a fun discussion Erod . Let me guess your position. Ha!

OK, I'll play along. Sorry for my cynicism.

First, I think he'd just retire. This isn't Brett Farve. Romo wants to get it done, but he wants it to be here, or he'd just soon ride off to his next chapter.

Second, it's not worth $5 million in cap space to Jerry and Jason. They'd rather let this play out naturally.

Third, yes there would be interest in him, but not at big money. Too risky. And he wouldn't risk his health for peanuts.

Fourth, we need to slow our roll on Dak Prescott. He's got an ugly game or five ahead of him sometime, and the craze will regress. It happens to all young QBs.

Romo will play and start here until he gets hurt again, or until he wins a Super Bowl. That could be a game or three seasons, or anything in between.
