Would the Cowboys have interest in Jake Locker or Chris Johnson?

Jake locker as a backup qb? Has been injury prone, but has played well in spurts. He is relatively young and probably won't look to start anywhere else.

Chris johnson - if we don't sign murray and lose randle to legal issues and Dunbar to FA our rb core consists of ryan williams. Do we sign CJ to decent deal and draft a rb later?

Probably not...I think they are comfortable where they are right now. If Matt Moore or Manziel were to become available they might take a long look but no one else.

There's no way on Chris Johnson because the Cowboys would first look at the draft for replacement and if they didn't get one they would kick the tires on Mark Ingram
whom JG loved in the draft. CJ is pretty much done as a RB.

Maybe it's the way you worded it, but are you suggesting he would be looking to start here? lol

Well, they like Weeden as the backup and have hopes for Vaughan. Add another camp body for reps, sure.

If no Dunbar then maybe Johnson on a make good contract. The QB situation is set for now despite all the cries about Weeden. However, it could be upgraded but it would have to be really of interest. Weeden knows the system here and that's a relatively big deal. And JG likes him.

I can see Locker brought in to compete for a backup spot, if they don't draft a QB.

I can tell if your serious... locker as a backup qb and Chris johnson in rb rotation. I think Chris johnson will be cheaper then your top tier rbs and has big play ability. With the threat of our passing game it could be a nice combination.

I think they will bring in a QB to compete with Weeden, but don't look for him to be beat out. Just normal camp body stuff to not tire out all the arms.
I think they will still develop Vaughan until, or unless a better QB is there in a future draft.

I think if they lose all of their RB's do to what ever reasons, they will draft one for sure, but won't sign an older RB unless that RB is released from Minnesota.

I don't like the idea of having two backups although I can make an argument for it on a championship quality team. I'd prefer one decent backup and a developmental guy......which is what we have coincidentally.

I could find a way to use Johnson but I think Dunbar is a younger version of the guy. I'm disappointed in how Dunbar is working out.

I actually wouldn't mind CJ at the right price.

I'm trying to decipher your oddly written post. You said that he wouldn't be looking to start anywhere else. That would denote that he would be looking to start here (presumably after Romo retired). Thus my question.

To start my post I said "Jake locker as a backup QB?" What I meant was he isn't going to be searching in FA for a starting role. He may look at the cowboys and say - they have talent on offense, romo gets hurt occasionally and I could be the next QB when romo retires.

How do you know he won't be looking for a starting role somewhere? Or at least a team where he has a legitimate shot at it?
