Would the Cowboys have interest in Jake Locker or Chris Johnson?

After the weeden comment by Garett, I would be surprised if dallas adds a qb. Although Locker would be an upgrade, maybe? (I can't see anyone being any worse) As far as locker looking to start somewhere? He needs to get in where he fits in.... He can't even stay healthy. Securing a job should be his priority...
Chris Johnson....hahahaha.

No to CJ2K, this is a young mans game esp at RB

I think Dallas needs to take a HARD look at back up QB since it is a realistic possibility that romo could miss a game or 2 that a team with playoff aspirations and seeding concerns would need to win. That is NOT Weeden IMO. If that is locker, fine, I just haven't seen him enough. My choices would be Sanchez or colt McCoy.

I don't like the idea of having two backups although I can make an argument for it on a championship quality team. I'd prefer one decent backup and a developmental guy......which is what we have coincidentally.

Weeden is not a decent backup
If he has to start a game, it is lost
He showed that last year

I'm not sure what to think because I've not seen enough...which is good. I just have faith in the coaches who like the guy. He's got a big arm. He just needs to develop upstairs and he has some great guys to learn from in Romo, Wade, and Jason.

so, I am day dreaming here, but can you imagine the cowboys using the "prove it to me" mantra to RB's each year...then they lead the league in rushing behind this line...then the next year, someone else wants to "prove" themselves and they are amongst the league leaders....rinse and repeat, save money, keep balanced on offense.....I digress......

Jake locker as a backup qb? Has been injury prone, but has played well in spurts. He is relatively young and probably won't look to start anywhere else.

Chris johnson - if we don't sign murray and lose randle to legal issues and Dunbar to FA our rb core consists of ryan williams. Do we sign CJ to decent deal and draft a rb later?

Would much rather have Locker then Weeden, but I have zero interest in CJ2K

Locker is an int machine just as Weeden. Locker career 27 tds, 22 ints. What exactly is the upgrade?

Would love Jake Locker as backup. He is every bit of Weeden in my opinion. I don't think we I've seen his best whereas I belorcs We have seen the best of Weeden. Just my gut. I have no real proof.

If you have seen Chris Johnson run the ball the last few years you would answer your own question. The guy is finished.

Not sure in his prime Sanders could make a lot of hay in that Jets offense.

On a cheap deal Johnson is the type you'd bet on.

I bet a lot of you thought Blount was a but even before he signed in Pittsburgh and then made his way to the Pats.

It's guys like Johnson where you can find inefficiencies in the market.

Locker was horrible in college and has been horrible as a pro. He had a good combine, that's it. Proof that the combine is a joke!

Locker has been on crap teams so im not too worried about his production. He has every tool you'd want a qb to have. Its still possible he can put it together. Only problem is hes always hurt. Do not want.

Sanders didn't exactly have a great OL in Detroit. With the Jets, pretty sure he could have found room to run.

How do you know he won't be looking for a starting role somewhere? Or at least a team where he has a legitimate shot at it?

I can't imagine any team signing Locker with the intension of him being their starting QB in 2015 with all the games he's missed due to injury and how up and down his play has been over the past 4 years. A team isn't going to bank their season on him so he's going to have to be realistic and take the best opportunity that's presented. Locker knows he was given a good chance in Tenn but couldn't stay healthy or play consistently so he's very likely going to have to settle for a backup job at least initially. He will definitely draw some interest at only 26 I wouldn't mind the Cowboys bringing him in.

It's called free agency and we may have holes to fill. CJ split carries with Chris ivory and averaged 4+ypc in an offense where they threw the ball 10x a game.

Jake locker has the measurable you look for in a QB and has played for an anemic titans offense. The benefit of a locker is his age.

Jake locker as a backup qb?

Was scatter armed in college and scatter armed so far in the NFL, nobody has been able to fix it yet. Why bother.
