Patrick Crayton or get the 2nd for him

I'd take the second round choice immediately and say thank you very much.

It will not happen though.

Ditto. Then draft WR, OLB, and CB with those 1st 3 picks.

I would take the second if it were a top half of the second team in a heartbeat. I like Crayton but I don't think he will ever be more than a 3rd WR so a 2nd would seem like a pretty good deal.

I salivate at the idea of Crayton & Meachum. I'd like that corps very much.

a 2nd for a player you invested a 7th round pick on is always a pretty good deal

My feelings too, but it would be awfully hard to pass up a 2nd for him.

Whatever the case, it won't happen.

No, not when that 7th rounder produces. You have to make sure that you have something to replace the production.

Wow...what a tough call to make...as a fan that loves certain players, i would want to match and keep him. But the value of a 2nd and the possibilty of having Meachem, Jarrett or Bowe in the first round.....

My heart wants Crayton to stay

but think about it, who would trade a 2nd round pick for Crayton....so it would be much smarter (football wise) to let him sign away for the 2nd round pick!

true, but it's only 34 receptions we're talking about, not a 1,000 yard receiver

With TO, Glenn, Austin, Hurd, Rector, Bilbo, and now this new kid, plus the possibility of drafting a super talented WR in the first 2 rounds of the draft, i'd take the 2nd round pick. We'll probaly end up losing him next year anyway cause some team will offer him stupid money, i'm sure.

But that's 34 receptions used sparingly as an option behind terry glenn, terrel owens & Jason Witten. I still feel like he could be a starter if necessary - he has never let us down when his number is called.

I think this is going to be his career year.

If so then I'm glad it is with the Cowboys...and then I'd say goodbye. He's been around awhile now, and while I like what he's done for us, he isn't going to start for any team that has a good receiver corps. He'll get good money to boot. I'd rather it wasn't us overpaying for his services. It'd be time to see exactly what we have in Austin, Hurd, Rector, or whomever we draft. I'd particularly like to see more of the Austin fella.

it would depend on how much they offered him. if it's the same as our tender i would keep him. i think crayton is one of the top #3 guys in the league and could be a good #2 on alot of teams.he had 34 catches because of glenn and t.o. not becuase he was'nt playing well when in there.the guy has the best hands on the team and is a major weapon on 3rd downs.

Well if it goes well we will draft a WR so we wont have to worry about it...and your second please?

He's been around for 3 years. His first season he was not dressed until the end of the season because parcells was 'convinced' he wasn't ready. Then he came in and did better than Copper.

His second year he started off very well and hurt his ankle.

His third year we decided to get TO. Who are you going to bench in his favor? Glenn or TO?

I'd be completely happy with Crayton as a starter, and hope that when the opportunity comes that the Cowboys agree.

I've seen nothing from Austin/Hurd, etc to make me think they can produce as well as Crayton.

I'm with you Bob, Crayton is a great #3 reciever for us and could be a pretty good #2 IMO but a second round pick for a guy we took in the sixth(is that right?) would be hard to pass up, espcially if it was say a high #2.
