Rodgers in our playoff game, from PFF:

When blitzed: 9 of 15 68 yd 4.5 ypa 1 td 1 int 3 sk 65.4
No blitz: 18 of 28 288 yd 10.3 ypa 1 td 0 int 0 sk 110.4

That is what bugs me about Marinelli's defense, he lets QBs get way too comfortable.

Dropping back and forces teams to slowly go down the field is fine vs Kirk Cousins, not Aaron Rodgers. You have to take some chances and it shouldn't of taken him 3 drives to realize it.

He went with what worked against them the first time, which was exactly what the Packers were expecting him to do.

Watching them vs Seattle I knew deep down the Championship Game would be our ceiling. I was worried about them since right before they played the Chiefs.

Even if we got by the Packers, do you believe we would've been able to take Atlanta? Honesty? I think they would've shredded us like they are GB.

We were equipped well to beat them. We certainly would have made it a game. I hate when the better team doesn't advance. This is what happens

I looked it like this:

GB
Falcons
Patriots

Oddly enough, all basically in increasing order. If we couldnt get past GT, falcons would have been a trouncing.

No it wouldn't. Dallas had a terrible first quarter, they out scored them by fifteen last three. I think they lose in the end but not trounced.

35-31 type game.

Too bad our DC doesn't like to blitz even with JAGs in the front. May of been a different story if they would have blitzed more early on.

With so little talent to work with, it's hard for me to blame the DC. In hindsight, blitzing from the start might have been the better option in this game, but it's just as likely that Rodgers would've adjusted and had his success late instead of early. A heavy dose of blitzing against an elite QB is generally considered a bad idea.

I think so. Atlanta saw how we killed GB's defense the 2nd half. They just applied that the whole game like we should of.

I could be wrong but I thought we were just as good in points per drive. We just didn't have as many drives as the Falcons have because of our offensive style.

We were for the majority of the season, but we kind of took our foot off the pedal while they were still fighting for their lives with a surging Tampa team on their tails.

But as far as DVOA, the Falcons were ranked number 1. Basically they were able to still put up the yards and points against stiffer competition, where we kind of slowed down.

With our cast of clowns in the deep secondary, Ryan would have minced us and cooked us in a pie.
Love Dak and his crew but he would be hard pressed to score the needed 35-40 points we'd need because of our inept deep secondary.

Blimey!
With the insurgent Falcons playing this type of star wars offense, we might have to rethink our draft needs, chaps.

Yes, we would have taken Atlanta, and then we would've won the Super Bowl.

Sucks it didn't happen though.

Falcons will look mortal when they face the Patriots

If the Patriots don't make it, they are Super Bowl champs. Or maybe it's the Steelers. Who the heck knows? Haha
Look forward to your next incisive, decisive post, mate!

In the playoffs power/toughness rankings, I see it thus:

1. New Cheatland
2. Atlanta
3. Pittsburgh
4. Green Bay
5. (Tie) Dallas and Seattle
6. Kansas City
7. New York
No way Houston/Oakland belong in this bunch

Probably not

Who knows though..we would have played it at home.

Their defense is nothing special..just like ours.
Would have been a shoot out from hell.

Probably would have come down to whoever had the ball last.

If we played four quarters we could compete with the Falcons. If we sleep walked through the first 20 minutes we'd lose, probably badly.
