Would We Have Taken Atlanta?

With our cast of clowns in the deep secondary, Ryan would have minced us and cooked us in a pie.
Love Dak and his crew but he would be hard pressed to score the needed 35-40 points we'd need because of our inept deep secondary.

Blimey!
With the insurgent Falcons playing this type of star wars offense, we might have to rethink our draft needs, chaps.
You aren't making sense with bold. Atlanta d isn't that good where we can't score on them. Smh

I wish they would seriously make another Finish the Fight Videos stating that this is the last Finish the Fight Video.
I wish they would have been prepared to play football in the first half and then maybe this thread doesn't exist. Can't give GB or NE an early lead.

Overall I think they would beat us handily, their passing attack and play calling would have made GB look like a JV team and I doubt they would have taken the foot off the gas by abandoning the passing game like GB did.

I think it would have been like us vs GB in the first quarter but last the entire game. I've thought for several months now and have been telling people at work it would be us vs Atlanta in the Conference Championships and that's when we would get spanked. Obviously that didn't happen :(

They have an incredible passing attack AND their running backs had over 2500 total yards and 24 TDs. Just unbelievable balance and explosiveness.

It would have been an challenge for sure.

I think so. Atlanta saw how we killed GB's defense the 2nd half. They just applied that the whole game like we should of.

Atlanta was getting plenty of pressure rushing just 4. We flat don't have the players to do that.

Garrett and his coaches would be outmatched by Atlanta and NE.
So no it would have been a trouncing of cowboys too.
Cowboys due to coaches are several levels below The best teams, they couldnt beat GB at home !
JG needs star players to almost win,:muttley: and BB uses nobodys to go to SB.....hmmmm:huh:

We would have lost IMO. However, we know what we need to beat the packers and Atlanta next year! An improved D line. Let me rephrase, a greatly improved Dline

I will say again, jerry could have hired Quinn and K shanahan, but didnt want to, he had clapper and linny !
He should Try to get josh McDaniel , he knows how NE operates, and could bring that to Dallas.
Much better than a trainee hc that uses slogans instead of strategy.

They averaged 3.06 points per drive this season. The 2013 Broncos weren't even that good.

If Atlanta faces the Patriots in the SB, it's going to be interesting, because NE's defense hasn't been tested at all.

This is the game for me, Percy, that will absolutely cement Belichick's legacy. If he schemes a win against this runaway train, there isn't much of an argument one could make against his prowess. /end digression :)

That wont help much , Coaches are the problem.
If your coaches are sub standard , your team will never beat other elite teams, no matter how good your players are.

Atlanta made rodgers look ordinary, same for NE with Roth, it has to do with strategy and coaching, not star players.
Garrett and his coaches made rodgers look like superman.

Our only hope would have been to run Zeke 40 times. But our D would have been torched. Atl advantage is speed. At RB and WR they have speed and then you add Julio who is a beast. The stats on their D are night and day from early snd late D. Incredibly well coached too

Not that Belichick isn't a genius, but the Falcons have already allowed 30+ points six times this year.

Yep. This team has won this year in spite of the coaching. The staff always seems to be late in making adjustments or coming out with a real strategy toward the opposing teams best players. Meanwhile you have ATL pressuring Rodgers on nearly half his drop backs because they know that's what's going to rattle him. And you have NE going to the SB with Chris Hogan as their best deep threat. Coaching, discipline, strategy.

I don't think we get within 14. Their defense is grossly underrated.

Please just like many other cowboy fans, I'm tired of the excuses, I have heard some posters say, Dallas should have started Romo. Which would have allowed the team to shoot it out with Green Bay, wow, got to love that mentality, lets not play defense, lets just try and out score teams .People have said we should have run Zeke more, okay that might work if the Dallas defense doesn't let Rodgers score every time he touches the ball. As far as I'm concerned coaching and poor defense lost this game, if you score 31 points and your at home, you should win. The coaching blunders are just inexcusable at this level. Continue down this path of having a poor defense and poor coaching and nothing will change.

Well the problem with your view is dallas got down 21-3 and that was also on the offense.
Then they scored points but all that was used to come back from behind. Then GB just scored last.
Had our offense done more in qtr one, they might have won the game.
What only 13 points in 1st half just isnt enough against GB.
It would not be enough with atlanta either, and teams behind at the half usually lose.
