Would you be interested in Quinn over Romo?

I don't see Buffalo taking a QB, Losman played well for them, very well in fact. I remember Norm on the Ticket mentioning that about midway through the year, so I started following him, he might end up being the best QB out of that draft. It was always said he had as much if not more potential than the QBs he came in with, but his head was a question mark...I work with a guy who played college ball with him, said he was a total tool, but that everyone agreed that his talent level was unreal.

Him and Lee Evans look to be a star combo for years...
Losman is better than Phillip Rivers, Eli Manning, and Ben Roethlisberger? :lmao2:

He did come on pretty strong last year.

Ultimately, who knows who will be the best of that bunch? I guarantee it won't be Eli, but Losman I wouldn't rule out yet. He's got a tough place to play in, but he's got nice physical tools and his head was coming around last year. If they can get more out of that line and Willis "I'm the league's best RB " McGahee, I'd look out for JP.

If Quinn fell that low, I'd bet Jerry would work out a trade with his good buddy Al Davis... say the Raiders 2nd rounder and next year's first for Quinn... J.P. Losman part II.

Me too. One of the most overrated prospects in the history of the draft.

Yep. Everyone seems to think he is the second coming of Tom Brady only because Weiss said so.

Can you say Rick Mirer? I can.

Through the magic of phonics, I too, can say Rick Mirer. The "rer" is kind of tough for my northern dialect, but I manage.

Somebody will move up to take him if nobody in the top 10 needs a QB. If he were there at 23, which he won't be IMO, I'd trade the pick. I like Quinn but we have a guy we think will work. Better, IMO, to sign a talented backup with experience and start Romo but hey, if your really talking about BPA in the draft, then you would almost certainly have to take Quinn if he were there at 23.

23? All this time I thought you were a Cowboys fan.

If Quinn falls to us, draft him, and trade Tony Romo for a right guard!!11!

Huh? No they don't.

Vikings: Tavaris Jackson
Bills: JP Losman
Dolphins: Culpepper (who they just paid a ton for!)

No way do either of those three go QB in the first round. There are too many other holes that can be filled.

The Panthers don't have a need at QB: they have Delhomme. They would be one of the 3 teams that might consider taking a QB in the first though.

And the Texans won't have a need, per se. They are going to bring in Plummer for a couple of seasons. They will go after Peterson and maybe try to grab a guy like Drew Stanton in the 3rd.
I could see him with Clev, Hou, or Mia, but you do bring up a good point on him possibly dropping. Not sure how you could pass on him if he was there at 22. I would do everything I could though to deal that pick...I mean you could get a ransom for it because it is not every day that a franchise QB drops to the 20s.

If Quinn played at any other school in the nation, I really doubt their would be any hype over him. Coach "Too good to punt" and the NotredameBroadcastingCorporation went to town with the Quinn hype machine this year and it seems like they did a helluva job.

About Joe Montana...dont kid yourself. He won a bowl game when he was in college.:lmao2:

So did Mirer. Can't have it both ways on that kind of deal.

On playing for Notre Damn, I don't agree. If Quinn played for USC or Texas or Miami, we wouldn't even be having a conversation about this IMO. He played well at Notre Dame with a lot less talent then many other programs in the country.

Seriously...are you comparing Quinn to Mirer? Mirer never possesed the arm strength that Quinn does and put nowhere near the numbers up that Quinn did.

Other than that they are very similiar.

this time last yr i would have wanted quinn over romo in a split second, but now. no way in hell.

I tend to agree with you. I don't know that Romo will be better then Quinn or that Quinn will be better then Romo but I do believe that Romo has a pretty good chance of becoming a good QB in the NFL. No matter how talented a prospect is, you can't ever know if they will translate well into the NFL. I'd rather take chances on Romo who has managed to pass the first series of tests in pretty good fashion, IMO.

However, I think Quinn is a heck of a QB prospect.

No I feel Romo is our QB and do not want to see Dallas playing musical QB always looking. Quinn may turn out to be a good QB but that is not a given. Romo in my opinion has shown enough to justify getting a long term contract and the chance to lead this team

i think quinn will be a pretty good qb in the nfl but he holds back u can tell the way he plays in big games while he was at ND.

me IMO i think romo is the cornerstone of this team. and i just think he's the real deal. he plays the game like just that. a game. he's relaxed and cool on the field and thats rare in todays game. thats something all the great ones had. im not calling romo great just yet but i think he's going to be something special

Problem with that would be that the Raiders just took a QB with the first pick.... Russell.....

i think is that was the case dallas would have its phone ringing off the hook from the houston texans.

Yeh most likely and I think he would do well for them... Man did Casserly screw them something awful then pick up and leave.... Bush, Lienart and Young right there and he takes a DE. Now they are back in the same boat. If Im them I just go ahead and take Quinn, forget about Peterson he will be a bust.... Hes way to injury prone
