Would you be mad if Seattle offered a Earl Thomas for David Irving straight up trade?

Mad?? like pissed, miffed, throw stuff angy? Nah, not for one second. I won't be angry if we negotiate a second round draft pick either. Earl will be 29 in May though, I'd be angry if he's on the down side of his career. Is he?

Not knowing cap ramifications, I would not be opposed so long as it did not kill the cap. Were going to lose Irving soon it sounds like, lets get somebody that wants to be here and is pretty good for him if we can.

Why would I take a 29 year old safety for a 24? year old D lineman with all world potential?

All this David Irving talk is getting carried away and Stephen Jones' words are being misconstrued.

Bottom line: If Irving plays next season like he did when healthy last season (and keeps his head on straight) then he'll be way more essential than ET. We also would not be able to let him walk and would franchise him. If he then plays another season like that, then he'd have played 2 dominant seasons while maturing and keeping his head straight. At that point you are even less likely to let him walk.

What's left on Thomas contract?

Why is everyone so concerned with salaries? Ok, you worry about having cap room to improve your team via FA, but this team won't go after any free agents that can take it to the next level. You worry about cap space to sign your own Free agents but with this teams record I don't care who we lose really. For example if we loss Martin I'd be disappointed but you can't keep this line together forever anyways.

Talent wise no
Irving is much younger and has shown he can be a dominate player when on the field
That said I suspect there is something with him that scared the team. It’s not injury issues, we’ve signed guys with as many if not more. The suspension issue comes down to do you trust him to put that behind him
The rumors of not participating in off season programs, late to meeting and all are concerning
The kid is super talented but can you trust him to get serious and put football first
That’s the issue that we don’t know the answer too and the team has to figure out

Apparently we are trying to keep this line together forever for around mere price of 300 million!

That's why our defense is the 32nd paid defense and Stephen talks about the draft first and foremost.....
