It's not that. It's just that i keep hearing people say we have to win a playoff game first.
WHY?
We played one of the best home teams in the nfl in the playoffs and pretty much beat them. Now our starting qb for the first time since Aikman brings up the two words Super Bowl and everybody wants to say, "Whoa whoa wait a minute lets win a playoff game first".
Get outta here with that. I know that i personally have been waiting for a Cowboy to utter the words Super Bowl. As soon as i heard Romo say that then that is my mindframe. Super Bowl or bust. So hell no i dont want him to be Danny White. I expect to see a Cowboy parade in early February.Period.
I understand up to a point where you're coming from but here's the thing.
WITHOUT THE FIRST WIN THERE AREN'T ANY OTHERS. This team hasn't seen the second round in quite a long while.
It doesn't matter what
might or
should have happened in the Seattle game; the fact remains that we came out on the losing end of it. Style points and paper talent mean nothing. As fans we can expect whatever we want to, but it's not our money, strategy, or effort out there on the field; all we can do is sit back and cheer or criticize. And if anybody's betting money on the outcome
Nobody in the Cowboys' organIzation has said they're just "happy to be here" (playoffs). But a lot of organizations get ahead of themselves when they start to look promising. Look at Kitna in Detroit, predicting 10 wins. Yeah, it might happen, but with their history, not that likely this season.
Attend to the little stuff, and the big stuff will follow. Win the first playoff game, and then concentrate on the next one. There's nothing wrong with players saying Super Bowl, but like the players sounding off about the coaching change, it's time to back it up. It doesn't matter what we expect, but what they actually do when the whistle blows.
