Would you be surprised if Henson gets #2 QB spot.

IMO I think that Romo will get the #2 spot but it would not surprise me at all if Henson gets it.

BP wanted to name the #2 QB a little after the 2nd preseason game but now he is gonna wait till after game #3. Lotsa people in here and some writers and radio guys all say how Romo is playing so much better. Well if BP thought Romo was playing so much better like they do Romo would already have been named the #2 QB.

To me BP waiting another week tell me that Romo is not playing as good as alota people think. This not good for Romo. It still gives Henson a chance to take that #2 spot todays game.

Things I noticed were that in the 2 preseason games. Henson moved the 3rd team better then Romo did. When you look at the good throws they have both made Hensons good throws were better.

My guess is BP watched the game all kinds of times and he saw things that made him decide he needs this game to decide who #2 is.

It would suprise me if he got it before the season starts....it wouldn't if he gets it by game 3 or so. BP is toying with him imo......trying to build him up by breaking him down first. JMO.

I'd be surprised.

BP can't like what he's seeing from him. His throwing motion is still horrid. His presense is awful. His read progressions are on the pop warner level and his level of confidence appears non-existent.

No way in hell is this guy getting the #2 spot any time soon. And I think as long as Parcells is here, it's going to stay that way. He doesn't appear to be much of a fan.

I'm looking forward to the game tonite though ...

Nope. I wouldn't be surprised at all.

Right now, it is my opinion that the QB position is the weakest on the team. Quite honestly, while I still haven't given up on Henson, I think these three QB's are the trifecta from hell right now.

Bledsoe, well we know what we're gonna get from him. He's got a track record.

The other two, as far as how they've performed this year AND last, it's like choosing which is better, Chicken Pox or Measles...

Romo is a competitor. The worst thing you could do would be underestimate him. I see something in this guy that most don't. He's got control. That's the best word I can think of. And of course you need control or command when you're a QB.

But I'll be hella surprised if Drew Henson is named #2.

I won't rule it out 100%, but I'd be very surprised.

Catch you later though guys ... hope everyone enjoys the game.

Things to keep in mind:

1. Game #3 is the dress rehearsal game.

2. Parcells said he likes his #2 to play 3rd in preason to get the confidence level up when he can rally the troops.

3. Last year what happened in game #3 and who was named #2 after?

4. Look up Jerry's interview yesterday and what was said about Henson and Romo.

5. Keep in mind that the #2 QB gets the least amount of reps during the season, so with Henson struggling early with his new motion and getting more comfortable late it is very possible the delay to name the back up is to give him more time to adjust.

6. Continuing on point #5, it might well be best for Henson to begin the season at #3 so he can work with the scout team. I think, reguardless of what Parcells said about a 16 game #2, that we will see another year of flipping #2.

No, why would I be?

Evey report has it that BP has not made up his mind. Any fan who has is going on personal choice. I'm waiting for the team to say who is where. It doesn't matter to me as long as Bledsoe plays well.

It wouldn't surprise me. Neither of them has wowed me at this point. Both have had good and bad moments, neither have exactly led the team on a deluge of scoring drives. I think the only reason Parcells hasn't named a guy yet is simply because there isn't a whole lot of difference between them at this point on time.

If Romo is not the #2, he got shaffed big time.

So I am sitting here wondering what you meant.

Shaffed?

Could you mean his pants are rubbing the inside of his legs and making them raw.

In that case you meant chaffed.

I guess you could have also meant he was placed in chaffing dish. But i don't believe we are going to have Romo for dinner.

Could you have meant shaved? He seems pretty clean cut. So that may be it.

But what I think you were struggling to say was shafted.

In which my rebuttal would be this.

He isn't a strong-armed quarterback. And some of the decisions he made in the Seattle game were to throw the ball up for grabs.

That will get you zero in the eyes of Parcells.

He isn't this diamond in the trash player that some seem to be heralding. For a guy who has so much more experience than Henson, he surely does make some strange decisions.

I'll admit he looks like a leader. But so did Steorner.

And we see where he is now.

I suspect your shafted comment could mean you expect Samuel L. (Mofo) Jackson to quote the Bible to him right before he acts like the Turk and cuts Romo.

Now I'd like that... But that shate ain't the truth. The truth is you're the weak. And I'm the tyranny of evil men. But I'm tryin', Ringo. I'm tryin' real hard to be a shepherd.

You are so wrong here. If Henson gets #2 it is cuz BP thinks he earned it.

One reason it would NOT surprise me if Henson got #2 was so he could get some clean up time in games that are pretty much over and get him ready for next year.

I think this is not a good thing for Romo that BP waited 1 week longer then he wanted to for naming the #2 QB.

Also someone else in here in chat said they thought it lookd like Henson goes out and attacks the Defense but Romo just manages the team.

If Romo was doing so much better then Henson in BPs mind then he woulda been named the #2 guy a few days after the Hawks game. Nuff said.

For the 10000 time, if Henson wins the job, its because BP (or more likely JJ) is trying to save face.

Let the denial resume

No, not so.

I will recap a post I made in another thread on this board.

Dallas has guaranteed Henson 3.5 million dollars. That buys him another year.

If Dallas were to decide they needed a vet back-up, because neither player has shown they can handle it if Bledsoe were to fall down and go boom.

Then you will see Romo being cut to save the money.

Especially if they have to scramble to find the money to hire a FA right tackle or safety after the season starts because of poor play by who we have now.

Romo will not be shafted by the team were he moved to third string or cut outright.

He is a marginal player that is holding on because of no other options at this juncture.

Really. Well then what QB this preseason was in when we all of a sudden had a 3rd down and 50 yards to go. Romo.

What QB moved the 3rd team better. It was Henson.

What QB was it that needed Crayton to make a great catch for 43 yards. A pass that easily coulda been INTd if Crayton had not gone in to fight for the ball. Romo.

What QB was it that threw away passes to the middle of the field instead of outta bounds when there was no play. It was Romo.

I will say it again. If Romo was playing better then Henson the BP would have named him the #2 QB a few days after the Hawks game. BP wanted to name his #2 QB after preseason game #2. This say alot and you just dont like it.

Which of the two was in a game as a starter last season?

Which was the #2 quarterback on this team last year?

Fact is, if Quincy hadn't been busted for being a doper, there is a very real possibility Romo would not have made this team at all last season.

In fact, I think you could take that to the bank they would have cut him.

So your OPINION on which plays better ignores that it was Quincy and his drug habit that even allowed your boy to be paid as a professional at all last year.

Unless you consider the arena league to be in the ranks of the pros.

There would be no way they would have cut either Henson or Testeverde if Quincy was the starter.

Rebut that.
